What's the best God of War game?

With the release of another God of War one might ask, which one is better? God of War has a main trilogy that started on PS2 and culminated in God of War 3 on PS3, a prequel newly launched, Ascension and two games for PSP, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus.

Thats a hard one, but I PERSONALLY found some moments in GoW3 so epic(Cronos,Poseiden) that I would consider it the best God of War.

GOW 3...Nothing and I mean nothing could be more epic than killing the GODS...The poseidon one was just absolute bliss to watch

2, followed closely by 3(which was my favorite until I went for the platinum trophy) and then 1. I haven't played the prequels yet so I can't say anything about them.

I think Ghost of Sparta would be my favorite.

But my copy of Ascension will be here today, so I obviously haven't played it.

Idk. They are all great.

I just really like what they did with GoS. The original is just so fantastic, though.

GOW 3 for me.

While GOW 2 maybe better story wise. GOW3 didn't even need a story! lol

In terms of epic scope, gameplay, boss battles, audio/music, and visuals, etc. GOW III excelled in practically every way.
