After the news about Yoichi Wada’s resignation from his position as President and CEO of Square Enix Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida immediately reassured the fans.
Today, during a pane at PAX East, Square Enix announced the release date of the next expansion Dawntrail, on top of the editions and more.
The MMORPG will arrive on Xbox consoles on 21st March following its open beta, with Square Enix releasing further details on the launch in a new Lodestone blog post.
Not only is Game Pass required to play the game in full, but FFXIV Coins will be required to make purchases - a new currency not used on PC or PlayStation.
What's even the point if they're doing everything possible to convince people NOT to play?
Bad idea. Kind of at the point its almost like a repeat of FFXI on the 360 with it requiring Gold to play.
Greed greed nothing but greed. Anyone who willingly plays 14 on Xbox is a bona fide sucker.
Kotaku writes: "That’s thanks to a series of announcements from Square Enix about exclusive features and play requirements, the latest being a new currency called FFXIV Coins."
Square should reassure fans that FFvs will be released & they should also release an english version of FF-TYPE O & maybe they can recoup some of their losses knowing both games are highly anticipated!
@Abriael...Call it what you want but RIGHT NOW the MAJORITY,the MASSES WANT FFvs or FF-TYPE O or even a new good looking & playing jrpg... there are little concern about an MMO(FF-VX) knowing that Square didn't get it right the first time.
Really? Wada resign? Think I m not reading all the news after all. I couldn't care less. The las game I bought from Square-Enix was Dissidia 012 for PSP... wait... no, Final Fantasy 13 was the... no, that one was a rental, nevermind.
News just in wada burns all traces of ffv13 aka 15 and sticks 2 fingers up at production crew. He then exits squares hq lights a cig and walks home.
