Oddworld Inhabitants: PS4 [is] incredibly easy to develop for...

"PS4 seems like a fantastic system, we’ve had kits for a while, and it is as people say, incredibly easy to develop for, as it is a lot closer to a PC system than ever before. Some of the ideas Sony have for the way it all works are truly inspiring and we are happy to be working with them again."

Sonys back in full force with majority of developers backing them gonna be alot like PS1/PS2 days onslaught of games.

@GribbleGrunger-True competition is alot stronger than before but Sony has a advantage with the easy to develop hardware, great relationships with developers, brand recognition.Ball is there court just how well they market the PS4 something they been lacking with this generation.

GribbleGrunger4048d ago

I'll agree but only because I want to be optimistic. Those were heady days of fewer competitors and delivery points ... We can dream though, eh? :)

darthv724048d ago

direction for sony to go. They couldnt take the chance of creating another difficult platform to develop for. they had to make the wise choice and go with the industry on this one.

It was either them or MS that would get the industry support for ease of use. MS already was taking that praise with the 360 and sony was not about to let them take it again in the next round.

Very smart on sony's part. very smart indeed.

quote from the article : Now we are working on PS4 and are incredibly excited by that prospect for the future. We’ve had no communication at all with Microsoft on their new system, so I really can’t comment on that at all. But PS4 seems like a fantastic system

jessupj4047d ago

Wow, if that quote is really true that doesn't look good.

Guess there won't be any games from JAW for MS's new console any time soon.

Maybe that did something to piss MS off like not releasing a game of the same quality as the ps3 version.

Prcko4048d ago

If this is true why the hell games for ps4 cost 50 pounds, not 40?

Nitrowolf24048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

developers don't set those prices, really it's the publishers (well there's more to it than that).

I believe there's also a business law where all these guys set the standard pricing. Not sure.

DigitalSmoke4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

On your train of thought developers make the same"or" smaller games for less money...

I rather have them spend the same amount of time into them so they'll pack more content and advance features.

chrisarsenalsavart4048d ago

because when a new gen starts, games are always more expensive.
remember the price of a ps3 launch title?

Why o why4048d ago

sony musta been on the charm offensive when meeting and conversing with devs over the past 8 months or longer. Most devs seem extremely positive...maybe its just relief they dont have to learn something foreign again either way its all good.

Ozymandsss4048d ago

I just can't wait to see the realism of a fart/giggle button in next-gen definition.

BitbyDeath4047d ago

I can't wait to see the ads for the Kinect version where you have to do it instead of the controller.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD: PS 5 Gameplay

Garethvk:

Here is a look at the new HD version of the game played on a PS5. I am not a fan of the camera system which makes viewing in third person harder than it should be but the game looks great otherwise.

Yi-Long800d ago

I liked the game back when it was released, especially the squirrel-gun of course (were they squirrels? Not sure) and the other weapons, and some fun enemies. A genuinely original game, but I doubt I’ll bother with the remaster. When you look at the textures they really feel low-res and outdated.

Garethvk800d ago

The camera was horrible 3rd person.

JL2930800d ago

Tried it on the Vita back in the day. Sucks.

Garethvk800d ago

Some are really good. This is a remaster and aside from the camera issues, its ok.

Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee and Exoddus on PS1/PC are 10/10 phenomenal. Munch’s Oddysee is a 7, Stranger is a 6, New and Tasty is also a 6, and SoulStorm is sadly a 3. I’m a massive Oddworld fan and I have been incredibly disappointed with the series after the original two titles.

Continue the Oddworld saga as Stranger's Wrath HD shoots onto Xbox and PlayStation

Neil writes: "For many the mere mention of an Oddworld game ushers up memories of Abe and Munch, even more so after the recent release of the brilliant Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition. But there's more to this universe and some seventeen years ago Stranger rocked up to deliver his wrath to the OG Xbox. It's fair to say it didn't go down as well as expected. Now though he's back, as Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD hits Xbox and PlayStation."

Excellent game. It was a bad decision not to launch on PlayStation initially.

MadLad802d ago

I have it on PC, but highly recommend those with a Playstation or Xbox to give this one a go. Great game.

SurgicalMenace801d ago

Again, the game's been out since PS2; it's about time for a sequel.

Mr_Luke801d ago

Ok, good game, i finished it on og Xbox, PSVita and PS3. But... enough, wasn't it better if they made a part 2 or something?

Phlacky801d ago (Edited 801d ago )

Shame, PS5 and XBSX could have easily ran this at 120fps. Even if they targeted a lower resolution like 1440p or 1800p still would have been worth it.

MadLad800d ago (Edited 800d ago )

I can run this thing 1440p 60fps on a rig I have with a now ancient 680 in it. The Series S should be able to do 4k 60, 1440 120 with no issue.
