This past week there was alot of talk about IGNs review-exclusivity deal for BioShock: Infinite. Spillfeber.no has writen a peace, where the author talks about how that is not only damaging for the reviewer, but also for the consumer.

I have absolutely no problem with exclusives, I brought a Playstion three knowing I wouldn't be playing mario kart,Halo etc etc etc.

I also believe many a exclusives give you the best value for money...So what games on the Xbox 360/Wii/wii-U packs as much content as Little Big Planet & Modnation? What experience do they have to rival heavy rain? Which because of the six axis along with graphic usage was only really possible on the Playstion 3 at the time? Could you imagine if these games went multiplat what they would lose? Unless someone gets a better version of the game...Which is what I am 100% against unless you are doing your best on both platforms.

I don't like how I think Call of duty has been getting worse and worse on the Playstation 3 Post Modern Warefare.

Timed exclusives I couldn't careless about if the content is not online. I couldn't care who gets the chance to play first, if it's a game I want I will get it in due time. Only thing I miss is the first day, week, months hype and not being able to talk about what happened I still enjoy the same software

Hey. The topic of exclusive games is a whole other thing, as this article comments on the topic of exclusives reviews (see IGNs BioShock: Infinite, Game Informers Aliens vs Predators).

But it's a you bring up some good points, and it's a discussion that is worth having.

Talk about a huge FAIL at reading the article.

This is about the Exclusive IGN Bioshock review, not some standard console exclusives flame-bait article.

even game reviews got exclusives too?! O.O

Kingthrash3604049d ago

Im just as surprised O.O
To receive the honor to exclusively review a game would make the reviewer go soft on the game and give a good review that it didnt deserve. Not sayin this is the case for this game but it just wouldnt make sense for them to give a bad review to a game they have been granted exclusive reviewing privilege.

maybe ken levine doesnt want his game get bad reviews ^_^ lol

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz272d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher271d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.
