VB - Tomb Raider’s story does nothing amazing: A cult led by a charismatic leader wants to sacrifice a human or two so that they can escape the island of Yamatai. They commit other brutal acts along the way, but that comes with the territory of crazy cults. Then our protagonist, Lara Croft, washes ashore and tells them that they’re doing it wrong. Violence ensues. Nothing special here. Predictable, in fact. I called so many plot points in this game that I should’ve started a drinking game with myself.
Tomb Raider I, II, III Remastered is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Lara Croft is back in a classic remaster of the original PlayStation 1 hit title. Is the remaster any good though?
We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.
For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.
I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.
Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
Like the film or television industry, the world of gaming has seen its fair share of reboots over the years. While some of these video game reboots have had
I still failed to find the deeper meaning even after reading the article. If the deeper meaning meant spikes going through Lara's head then yeah it had a lot of that.
though i platiumed that game but somehow i still this game miss something, something in gameplay which doesn't fit in the adventure and something in combat which isnt enough to satify me in shooter
I think the reboot Tomb Raider bombards players with its philosophical depth. I tweet some quotes in it, anyway. Hahah...
This time, Tomb Raider really hooked me up. Awesome gameplay and set-pieces from start to finish. :)
Depth is earned through a strong narrative. You can fall back on baser manipulations, be they jump scares in horror or a random tragedy in a romance, they will never reach the brilliance of a well crafted storyline that earns its emotional impact. It's not a sacrifice it's just a shortcut that can be used that at times has its benefits but you'll never ever beat a narrative that earns every ounce of emotional and intellectual depth.
