Not the best thing Sony could get ported to the Vita. So i really hope the Jak&Daxter collection rumor is true.

TheGrimOfDeath4044d ago

I already have the PS3 edition, but I hope people get to know why the game is epic! :D

OlgerO4044d ago

Epic mickey is in my opinion one of the worst game creations this generation and any platform that has it is less because of it. not trying to be a dick but it is just horrible.I feel deep sorrow for any kid that got this horrible abomination of a game.

sinncross4043d ago

Well, not the best game to co-develop but they probably got the license to do so cheaply. There is talk that Versus13 FF is also now co-developed by Sony.

In any case, I think this is a good move by Sony if they continue to seek this strategy. But they should look at slightly more high profile games than EM2 which was not too hot. But who knows... maybe they will fix some stuff for the PSV version.

KrisButtar4044d ago

"One last note: as of now, Epic Mickey 2 won’t offer any sort of cross-compatibility support. There are no cross-buy, cross-play, or cross-save features planned."

Sony really needs to start offering those features with every game, more so with ports

Seraphim4044d ago

I agree to some extent. In this case though I think Sony is sinking in too much money to be giving the game away. Actually I'm rather surprised they're footing the bill to bring this to Vita so it must mean they see this game being great software for the Vitas features.

Anyway, w/o knowing exactly what all would go into making it Cross Save I don't like the fact it won't at least offer that. As for Cross Buy, I'd love to see more, all Sony titles offer this. More often than not I'm not going to spend $100 to get the game on 2 Platforms. Actually it's a good selling point when I'm on the fence too. Knowing i Can play it either on Vita or PS3 I'm probably going to buy a game I was on the fence about...

coolasj4044d ago

Seriously, I buy up cross-buy games like candy.

KrisButtar4044d ago (Edited 4044d ago )

I believe cross save should be offered at the very least, for titles that are on both the ps3 and vita. That is a major selling point, if you have the game on the PS3, you can continue on the go with the vita version. I'm sure that reason alone have sold copies for the other games that offer it. For me I will always buy the PS3 version 1st, because I can play it on my 60" OLED, if they want me to spend money on a vita version, I must be able to continue my journey while on the go. Why else would someone want a vita version of a PS3 game? I really see games offered on both and not offering the cross save, will fail on the vita. I can understand why cross buy is not offered for all games, cross save can not be that difficult, compared to the programing of a game itself.

Edit: the fact Sony is involved with this game and doesn't have any "cross" features at all, is mind blowing

Hingle_Mcringleberry4044d ago

So that 100 figure for upcoming games is really just ps3 ports?

Silly gameAr4044d ago

Ports are bad? I see people asking for PS3 ports of games for Vita everyday. Just read the comments on the PSBlog. And one game being ported to Vita doesn't mean all of the upcoming games will be ports anyway. Get real.

Protagonist4044d ago (Edited 4044d ago )

You deducted that from one game being ported to the PS Vita?

Even if it had any truth to it, it would be the most EPIC thing ever done!

Imagine direct ports of:

Grand Theft Auto IV
Batman: Arkham City
Red Dead Redemption
Portal 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
God of War III
Journey'
The ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Mass Effect 2
Borderlands 2
Persona 4 Arena
Battlefield 3
Crysis 2
DmC: Devil May Cry

Good_Guy_Jamal4044d ago

Games that are better on consoles and pc. That's all you've managed to list. Why would that interest buyers who already own machines capable of running those games better?

Silly gameAr4044d ago

What are handhelds used for Jamal? To play games on the go. Those games that he listed may be better on consoles and PC's but I don't know many people that can play those games while on the road, unless they have a PS3 or 360 hooked up to a tv in their car. How convenient would that be?

boybato4044d ago

no vita owner/potential vita buyer wants it to become a port machine though ill gladly port beg for some of those titles.

puamdefokejpn4044d ago (Edited 4044d ago )

Glad Sony is helping on both,.. WiiU version sometimes drops frames a bit,.. looks fantastic though. I don't know what to think of it,.. but at least they foxed a camera.(Two stick)

puamdefokejpn4044d ago (Edited 4044d ago )

but,.. from what I've played,..It is meh ok and it is kiddy as fuck,..Fps drops like wow sometimes. Maybe if you have a kid,.. but there are better platformers out there,.. Jak, Sly, Ratchet ,.. all shit on this by a mile.

Get Jak and Daxter HD collection instead ,.. far far better games. Or get Sly ,.. that game is just (I think Sanzaru actually made a better Sly game than Sucker Punch,.. lol ,.. just saying :))

"The Vita version of the game, starring Disney’s Mickey on a quest to bring color back to the world, will include touch-screen controls for painting and tilt controls for racing. The Vita also gets an exclusive two-player Wi-Fi cooperative mode."

I think this game will fit the Vita better. Plus the co-op seems like a really nice added feature to add some more fun to the game. It may not be something I am interested in but I know it cost Sony next to nothing to port this, so why would I really complain when they are actually improving upon the game.

I love co-op games of any kind so with that in mind, if this is ever on sale or if it is cheap in general I might look into it.

A Look Back at Disney Games on PlayStation Handhelds

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "There are few brands out there that have anything like the appeal and recognition of Disney. Thanks to decades of beautiful and critically acclaimed animated films, the company is a household name that has expanded beyond just movies to include a variety of other ventures, including videogames. Disney has also grown its lineup considerably in recent years by acquiring Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars (although for the purposes of this article, I’ll only be covering Disney/Pixar output).

Thanks to their broad audience, Disney games usually show up on every viable platform out there, meaning that despite the brand’s affinity with Nintendo’s younger-skewing audience, both the PSP and Vita received a number of titles throughout their lives. Some of this was through Disney's own developer/publisher (Disney Interactive Studios), but the firm also licensed out its IPs for other companies to try their hand at – with somewhat mixed results."

Xbox Game Pass Announces New Games - Alien: Isolation, The Walking Dead: Season 2, and More

Xbox Wire: "It’s true, constantly bringing more games to you is kind of our schtick at Xbox Game Pass, so let’s talk about the journey these latest additions took to get from us to you! We started with the customary good luck ceremony, during which we wrote heartfelt haikus in tribute to each game, and the social media team sang their rehearsal solos for the Xbox Game Pass: The Musical."

Nice adds. I like how their site has fun with the announcements.

lxeasy1884d ago

I heard really good things about the Alien game. Gonna check out. Another win for Gamepass

mark_parch1884d ago

alien isolation is a great game. I love how they stayed true to the original film with the late 70's sci fi vibe.

Estevez1884d ago

Alien: Isolation has the highest number of players who never finished the game - of all the games... this is why I never bothered with it...

gam3r_4_lif31884d ago

Alien isolation is great. It just needed some editing. If it was about 30% shorter it woukd have been a masterpiece

gam3r_4_lif31884d ago

@Estvez yeah because it got very repetitive and rather than them wrap it up and bring it home they added another 10- 15 hours of nothing new. But would defo check it out on GP if you never played it, it really is faithful to look of the movie and still looks great now

Greedsin1884d ago

It's a fantastic horror game, the Alien AI really keeps you on your toes.

I agree lots of great games.

Bnet3431884d ago

One of the few bright spots for the Xbox One is the Xbox Game Pass. I am waiting for them to be the Netflix of gaming. Even for new titles. That's the goal. That would be so awesome. That's like their main selling point.

Bronxs151884d ago (Edited 1884d ago )

The native 4k triple A 3rd party games like far cry 5, shadow of tomb raider, red dead 2 and metro exodus is also a selling point to me. and backwards compatibility with some 360 and OG Xbox games get free 4K patches like half life the orange box and KOTR. Also More and Better free games with gold and you actually keep the Xbox 360 free games forever. And they offer pretty good ones I’ve filled out my gaming library with good titles like South Park stick of truth for example. The controller and 4K blu Ray playback are nice as well.
And while they don’t have the best game library of all platforms there are still pretty great games that can’t be played on a Nintendo or Sony system like games in the halo Forza gears franchise and new games like ori and the blind forest quantum break from remedy sunset overdrive from insomniac. Plus looking forward to new games from ninja theory.

But your right game pass is a big plus. Getting titles like doom, hitman, shadow of the tomb raider, rise of tomb raider, fallout 4, rocket league, alien isolation, resident evil revelations, plus all first party Microsoft games is a damn sweet deal!

Greedsin1884d ago

It's shocking how much speed Game pass has picked up recently. The selection of new games is great so far.
