Here are 10 games that prove how rewarding sticking to a console a bit beyond its best-before date can be.

ranger x and gunstrar heroes where a couple of other great games released near the end.

And to think it was the same platform that started us off with altered beast.

Creative minds find ways to use limitations to their advantage.

what? A great avatar, cool name, and intelligent comment and you still get a disagree... What has the internet come to?

Don't forget Persona 3 and 4 for ps2. And mgs 3 subsistence.

piroh4050d ago (Edited 4050d ago )

To me, it was KHII. It was the second game I ever bought with my own money (1st being Pokémon Emerald). I probably finished the game 5 times in less than a month, and I did another playthrough (on Proud mode) last summer. Was one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life so far.
This and Persona 3 were probably the only major PS2 games that released the same year as the PS3 did.

Panzer Dragoon Saga. I will never forget this full page ad Sega put out when the game was released. It featured a cut out paper mask of Edge (the game's hero)and mocked the fact that only 6000 copies were being produced. The mask was for people to wear and pretend they were in the game since it was so hard to get a copy.

Awesome game that very few have played, and the code is lost. Worth getting an emulator setup for. It's in my top 10 actually, within minutes you know it's something special.

It is the pride of my video game collection. I ended up dropping about $175 on a copy 10 years ago. I will never forgive myself for seeing it used at a Funcoland in 1999 for $49. At the time I thought that was too much for a used game.

I guess that's why I like pc, it's been dying the last 20 years .

Nice, not a long wait for Thousand Year Door. :)

Let the rehashed crap-fest continue!

RonnySins44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

I’d prefer these to any of Naughty dogs remakes and remasters. ;)

RaiderNation44d ago

Good for you. I prefer both.

OtterX43d ago

Not sure why it has to be one or the other. I play my Switch and my PS5 about equally and I appreciate both.

mudakoshaka43d ago

How about neither of those? I would prefer that.

Profchaos44d ago

Hey if you want to buy a physical copy of ttyd it'll cost a fair bit these days so having this seems like a decent alternative.

Obviously the best option would be for GameCube to hit the nso service but that'll never happen

CDbiggen44d ago

I guess they're keeping quiet about and big new titles as they will be releasing (eventually) on Switch 2. There's nothing major in the Switch Release schedule at all this year apart from those 2 remasters.

mudakoshaka43d ago

Hahahaha, there are no new titles.

Kneetos43d ago

At least Nintendo has first party games this year :V

I never played Super Mario RPG so this will be a treat for me. The remake looks amazing!

GoodGuy09301d ago

Paper mario is terrible now lol. Really only the first and thousand year door were great. They should've stayed as rpgs. Man I can't wait for this remake and hope it does well enough for Nintendo to finally make a new mario rpg.

Becuzisaid300d ago

I enjoyed the newest Paper Mario but it's definitely not any kind of RPG anymore. Looking forward this!
