GTA 5's September release isn't a concern for Saints Row 4, says Volition

Saints Row 4 is due to launch three weeks before Rockstar's open-world giant hits the shelves on September 17.

But rather than let itself be swallowed up by Grand Theft Auto 5, Volition believes that the series doesn't pose as much of a threat to Saints Row as it once did, thanks to the team's work in differentiating itself from Rockstar's title.

Yeah because you're a month before GTA V releases.

But probably most people won't buy this DLC made into 'full' content.

Serjikal_Strike4045d ago

I'm not worried either, I'll be getting both

coolmast3r4045d ago

You don't even dare to mix crap with marzipan.

Didn't play SR3 and I won't be playing SR4. I will stick with Rockstar someone who knows how to improve upon games not run out of ideas and simply ruin them.

I am all for over the top ridiculousness. I loved games like the Postal series, Crackdown, Manhunt or there was this old game on PS2 where you just ran around a mall, destroying things and killing people with super over the top weapons.. I forgot the name of it but you get my point. You can be over the top and it still be good.

Saint Rows fails at being some sort of GTA spin off and it fails at being a ridiculous game. So I will pass.

I had more fun playing GTA 3 than any Saint Rows anyway. Even if I did have interest in SR4, I would probably not touch it ever again once GTA 5 comes out.

konnerbllb4045d ago

Play SR3, from the games you listed I think you would love it.

That said they should be worried.

Chris5584045d ago

Didn't play s3 yet you judge it how stupid you may be? It was fun as hell and gta 4 was a garbage i raped myself to finish the story *spoiler alert it was not worth it*

profgerbik4045d ago (Edited 4045d ago )

Sure it was fun but fun still doesn't mean it can't be a stupid thoughtless game. Whether you enjoy that is completely up to you.

I don't. I just like just a little more depth from it, I really don't care what it is but something. All this game has is its over the top crap now.

I don't even have a problem with them trying to make a sandbox game like GTA but it could have turned out way better than this crap.

WrAiTh Sp3cTr34045d ago

Yeah, the person says they never played the game but tells the devs they ruined it? I'm wondering if that's the dumbest comment I've heard today, but the day isn't over with yet and I'm still logged into n4g so I shouldn't jump the gun too quick, lol.

omi25p4045d ago

GTA IV was brilliant.

Liamabob4045d ago

Sounds as if you're talking about 'State Of Emergency'. Throwing molotovs into shopfronts was really quite satisfying on that game.

"I will stick with Rockstar someone who knows how to improve upon games not run out of ideas and simply ruin them."

Well, you clearly never played GTA4 and if you have then you've never played the older GTAs because Rockstar ruined the franchise with GTA4. I'd rather just have a HD collection of the older games back when Rockstar used to know what fun was all about.

Stupid people will buy SR4, the clever ones'll wait a little bit, save their money and enjoy a real masterpiece.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar35d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo35d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg35d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos35d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
