Depends, we already have a clear overview of the PS4, we only don't know what the console will look like (but who cares. If all of these Xbox 720 rumors are true then I personally think the PS4 can win. I would never buy an always online game but imagine what an always online console would be like. Matienence would mean no play time, and servers would constantly need observing. Just look at how SimCity went down, in my overall thoughts if all of these rumors and specs come to shape, the PS4 can win. I am sure everyone will have a clear answer by E3

AmayaAi4052d ago

Agreed. I can't really wait for E3 to arrive and enlighten us about how gaming is going to be over the next 5-7 years.

subtenko4052d ago

PS4 because right now the next xbox aint looking so good with all this DRM talk. They would have to pull out something crazy in their hat to gain the lead. So with that all in mind it looks like PS will easily pull out on top this time like when PS2 came out. PS3 took awhile but it got there and now because of its success we have the next phase with PS4 finally :)

That girl won every single war.

i know allot of people who do nothing but play cod, nba2k13,Madden and halo/gears, i think those guys will buy their xbox again, plus i know ms will probably drop 360 support but sony will keep ps3 for a while like they did with ps2, i think the xbox will sell more at first because xbox owners/ fans will have more reason to buy one, while ps3 owners will be good for at least another 2-3years if they wanted to wait. it may change after that but really who knows. The wiiu will start selling well once it has games released, and as the cheapest console it will be the first thing parents consider for their kids, plus if that big casual market of old ladies and family still exsists next gen then that market probably will go to wiiu.

ps3_pwns4052d ago

i agree wii u will not win thats for sure and the only way x720 would win is if people didnt know it was a rip off and taking away there god given rights. the only way x720 could come close to winning is if people like halo fps all day more then having more games and tons of different kinds of games and japanese games that the ps4 will offer. out of x720/ps4 the ps4 will have more games and the better quality third party games and more dlc xclusivity. someone please tell me why you would get an x360 under these circumstances if it and the ps4 end up being the same price. i just want to understand your thinking

3rdDimension4052d ago (Edited 4052d ago )

I remember a time when people said 3ds and Wii would loose the race...

ps3_pwns4052d ago

The wii is no longer in the race. white like a rabbit, this is a turtle race son.

_QQ_4052d ago

other than the third party part you basically described the wiiu when describing the ps4, it's still anyones game.

ozstar4052d ago

Yep, steam powered consoles are the way of the future, the way of the future, the way of the future

Gamer-404052d ago (Edited 4052d ago )

We gamers, but wallet dead..

mcstorm4052d ago

I agree. Gamers win in the end as we will have 3 very good consoles with some of the best games ever made on all 3.

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN11h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos9h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

GamerRN2h ago

They can form a company if they want, they are just as jobless as if "Microsoft had left them as 3rd party".

peppeaccardo4h ago

"MIcrosoft leaves Bethesda do what they know how to do best" ... close! Oh the irony ....
(Citation from a week old article)

ChasterMies11m ago

I think Microsoft and other game publishers are letting people go because they think ai will replace them. Doesn’t matter how much profit they make. They were always going to be let go.

PassNextquestion14h ago(Edited 14h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger11h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos14h ago(Edited 14h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto13h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos13h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long10h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel12h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator11h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

PlayStation Doesn't Need a Dedicated PC Store Launcher

With all the PlayStation games that are now coming to PC, is it time for Sony to release a dedicated PC launcher?

thorstein4d ago

No, and they already solved any need with the overlay that's coming.

Vits4d ago

Unless they are trying to kill their recently created PC business, I would advise against opening a dedicated PC store. It's an extremely hard endeavor, and people, in general, are very comfortable with Steam. Even Epic, with their billions of dollars invested, is still struggling to find a foothold, and they have Fortnite.

just_looken3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Money is one thing security is another but again millions have 0 knowledge past 2020.

Epic store for years struggled with a shopping cart/account theft/credit card theft

Rockstar launcher/store to this day over 5 years later still has horrific user interface security flaws lost account's and stolen CC

Then you got that activision need phone number oh we lost it launcher

The crown jewel is the ea launcher/store ea app 3 yrs old still has hundreds of threads were people lost games/accounts/game access or just straight up crashes.

Edit" Oh ubi launcher were you buy a game that may or may not be there again or work and the launcher 5yrs old still has no 4K support if you launch it on a 4k screen there is a high chance it will just crash.

ocelot074d ago

Can tell who ever put this together is not all that clued up on pc gaming.

It's just a known fact. The PC gaming community prefer Steam and Steam alone. They don't like different launchers. I personally don't mind them. But majority just stick with steam. Hence why EA and Ubisoft went back to on releasing on steam and why Microsoft release games on steam as people hated buying from the windows store.

The only other launchers that I imagine are doing ok is GOG due to being drm free and epic games due to the free games every week. Sony shouldn't release any sort of pc launcher n

Nitrowolf23d ago (Edited 3d ago )

It literally says in the OP that PC gamers don't like multiple launchers lol. It even mentions Steam being the go to for gamers

Tacoboto3d ago

Title: "PlayStation Doesn't Need a Dedicated PC Store Launcher"

N4G: "Can tell who ever put this together is not all that clued up on pc gaming"

When you don't even read the headline...

ocelot073d ago

I read it and had a brain fart. As read the title then this "With all the PlayStation games that are now coming to PC, is it time for Sony to release a dedicated PC launcher?"

So I hold my hands up on that mistake. Rest of my comment still stands.

Giblet_Head3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Steam and GOG are highly preferred because of the rich feature set. Ubisoft, Rockstar, EA, Epic etc have all set a precedent over the years for customers to instinctively expect individual publisher launchers to be so extremely half-assed that the majority simply don't want to bother dealing with what is almost an inevitable disappointment by comparison to Steam or GOG. Those publishers and their inaction or general disinterest to improve have effectively ruined any future adoption to be taken seriously.

Einhander19723d ago (Edited 3d ago )

This is just another ridiculous double standard article.

It's like how Microsoft can spend 20 years of making nothing but gaas and live service style games to sell microtransactions, dlc and subscriptions and get praise for doing it, but if Sony wants to make a single game like that every website under the sun is writing articles saying how Sony is anti-consumer or whatever.

derek3d ago

Yep, huge double standard look at the tortured reaction to the ps5pro, websites hyperventilating like Sony is forcing people to buy it.

just_looken3d ago

Wait my xbox from 2004 has avengers gaas on it? wow your so smart

m$ Gaas started with the other companies like sony

Gamepass yes they are deep into that but its still a huge money saver sense you do not own your games then get a service like that.

Now there pc xbox launcher that is trash for years now

Nintendo's Massacre Of The 3DS And Wii U Is Finally Complete, Regrettably

Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
