The price cut on Wii U hardware has failed to boost sales to the level expected, retailer ShopTo has suggested.
"Global indie publisher ESDigital Games is thrilled to announce its participation in London Games Festival 2024 from 9th - 20th April at venues across the city." - ESDigital Games.
Game Rant chats with the creator of No More Heroes about who he would like to see play the role of Travis Touchdown in a live-action adaptation.
Actually Ryan Gosling makes a ton of sense.
Edit: If this can be done in a Scott Pilgrim movie kind of way that would be dope.
The more I think about it, the more I kinda want it to be a thing lol. Ryan Gosling would be awesome. He would need to play it less serious, but he's shown that he can be a goofball.
Christopher Dring has revealed that he spoke to a number of developers at GDC this year that questioned why the PS5 Pro is even happening, with many saying they haven’t even got the most out of the standard version of the console yet.
Exactly
They should have just let developers squeeze as much from the PS5 and then wait for the PS6
By the time developers even get into the PS5 Pro within a couple of years Sony will most likely be sending PS6 dev kits out.
yep same here ...
Most games are still PS4 Pro+ level than proper PS5-esque ... devs squeezed more out of X360/PS3 era than this cross-gen era ... like Monolith's nemesis system or BF4 multiplayer or even Crysis 3 or GTA V
Where's the next-gen gameplay? ... its just higher pixel count or shinier texture or few ray traced shadows :P
Make more use of that zippy SSD than just lower load times and few portals in one game
I am seeing wayy more gameplay innovations in the indie space with tighter hardware target and even tighter budget
Lot of games are 30fps in quality mode
And 60fps in performance mode
Pro will probably fix that
"Devs Reportedly Question Why PS5 Pro Is Happening"
Yeah right. I don't buy this sentiment at all. Surprised people here are so quick to swallow this tripe. Did devs really say this? If devs don't understand the appeal of high end upscaling nor the value of 4x raytracing they shouldn't be devs. Simply put; you can render your games at lower res and let upscaling make them look sharper, with no extra work. Boosting image quality and frame rates. This will probably also be true of past PS5 releases. I'll take the massive raytracing improvement as well. This probably won't be a pricy machine either.
I won’t benefit from it either because i have one of the first 4K TV.. the strange thing for me is, Sony consoles are there to showcase the first party games but not sure where the 1st party games are.. most are cross gen
I agree not to mention the ps5 pro to anyone with general pc knowledge knows there is a cpu issue.
They should have tossed a oem 5kcpu with that 6800gpu in the system the pssr is another joke.
There was 0 reason to spend millions on making a upscale tech for a gpu that already had amd upscale tech on the base ps5.
Oh before the haters reply yes there is a oem 5900 from 2021
https://www.amd.com/en/prod...
The 5900x for us non bulk buy not direct from amd is $280 usd so the oem version could easily be half that for sony.
https://www.microcenter.com...
Oh man, Cerny probably didn't think of that. Darn he should have talked to you first!
@crazy
So now the sony blindboys are saying Mark Cerny is god?
The Mark Cerny that made the ps4 pro that came out with checkerboard upscale like the series to make up for a cpu issue and less support than we should have.
Or the Mark Cerny that gave us the vita a great device that had memory cards only for it with expensive cost then the 2.0 version with a worse screen.
But i wont go into explination because this "gen" like last gen is using a igpu/apu not even a real cpu/gpu but i get told/read so many comments from blind boys on how the ps5 is a 4k beast more powerful than any pc.
The recent terraflop speak there are still many out there that think the pro will bet a 4080 rig LOL
https://wccftech.com/planet...
https://www.tweaktown.com/n...
If i was in charge the ps5 would have a mini atx/itx build custom board 2slot gpu connected via pcie upgrade when free bsd has driver support for new card socketable cpu 3700x but b550 maybe x chipset 20+gb ddr4 1tb gen 4nvme back glory hole for another. Upgrade cpu after bios update like the did with psp/ps3/ps4 era with firmware updates.
The board front ports 1 hdmi 1 gen 3 usb 1 type c rear from gpu standard from board 2 usb then that psv 2 connection and digital audio output.
Itx power supply silverstone with a ground plug something a console has not seen in 10years but i hear console players are scared of cords with 3 prongs.
Ps5 case/design would be like trident msi
https://www.notebookcheck.n...
I would sell it direct sony has a website in every continent and like m$ buy it from the ps4 ps store. The purchase would be like buying a prebuilt pc from your dell situation straight up or payments. Scalper monitor like valve and more can get one through payment structure.
@justlooken, stop pretending like you know what you're are talking about. CPU issue? Why becuase you say so? Lol.
Ill take Cerny's word over yours because even with the Vita, he has 100% more consoles successfully designed than you.
@just looken
Crazycoconuts is saying Cerny is the engineer for the PS5. He most likely took all of that into consideration; not that he’s god. You gotta think logically man.
Have you even stopped to think how your prebuilt PC is gonna run PS5 games, not to mention PS4 games. It might surprise you, but installing FreeBSD on a prebuild PC is not gonna do the trick. Sony's API is very different from Direct-X. It's not meant to support a wide range of hardware configurations.
Sony invested a good amount of R&D budget to make the PS5 backwards compatible with PS4 games. It's not simple software emulation and it required specific hardware customizations from AMD to make it work as well as it does.
Sony is not going to spend that kind of R&D budget on a mid-gen refresh, so upgrading the CPU in particular wouldn't have been trivial.
We can discuss whether these limitations should've prevented Sony from launching a mid-gen upgrade, but to suggest that Sony could essentially just go on PC part picker and make a PS5 Pro is obviously ridiculous.
Sony is still gonna sell a ton of hardware. It doesn't really matter if there is meaningful benefit to the consumer, this is gonna bring in plenty of $$ because people love to spend money haha
True sony is selling them a 2015 tablet well a worse tablet called the psportal
Sony should sell users nvmes but say they are the fastest in the world at $400 per tb they would sell because they are stamped with a PS logo even though they are cashless drives LOL
I think a few dev already did try to squeeze and struggle with what they have right now.
Coupled that with odd mid pandemic launch and very long development time of current gen games it's becoming a very tricky to predict your next hardware move.
By the time they think about their next big game it's going to be for PS6 and not PS5 the OG hardware might have legs but considering its CPU is going to be its weakness some might skipped the Pro and go for PS6 at least for those aiming for next gen wow factor.
It's not like Sony can afford a big CPU upgrade as AMD right now have nothing that gives them just that for PS5 Pro and still priced it reasonably, they knew exactly what's this thing is for and its pushing better RT performance with a bit better frame rate.
With all that said it's better to hear from Sony first than take any of these too seriously.
If you actually had a am4 board you would know how stupid it is to say "a big CPU upgrade as AMD right now have nothing that gives them just that "
There is 5 gens of cpus to go through duel to 16 core event the 5600x/5800x3d they are buying wholesale also right now for us am4 is cheap for them it would be dirt cheap.
But you might be a huge fan of alie ware think 100C temp on your 6 core rtx 3050 pc that you paid 3grand for is awesome or some crap.
I dont agree. Im excited for the additional power. Just because they havent maxed out the PS5, doesnt mean the PRO isnt going to offer more.
It still feels like this gen hasn't even begun, the Pro would be an appealing option for those who don't have a PS5 yet, but most people who want a PS5 probably already have one at this point.
Yea I’m not a fan of purchasing a console for one generation only for there to be a better upgrade in between generations. It’s not a trend I’m particularly fond of.
It's a cash grab and diehard Sony fans are going to buy it regardless and Sony knows this
Developers still have to squeeze as much from the PS5 as possible. Last gen showed the mid cycle upgrade models were a small fraction of the market. Even Microsoft Studios didn’t wait long to abandon the Xbox One X, and this was despite all of Microsoft’s talk about ending console generations. Mid cycle consoles upgrades are a bad bargain and I won’t buy one.
I'm definitely questioning it. Seems entirely unnecessary since there's been no sign of peak optimization by first-party, let alone third. This will just move more focus on more graphics push than fix steady 30fps/60fps modes.
And really, that's a shame. Great hardware this generation that isn't getting squeezed properly.
The Pro feels like a solution in search of a problem. DD2 doesn't run great on PS5, but I think that's more about an engine meant for linear games running an open world than any meaningful strain placed on the hardware. We seem to be entering the PC age where games are made and thrown at the hardware where it gets the most out of it on its own—in which case, will we ever see a game properly utilize hardware going forward?
There's a decent case for AI-supported development here, but as I always say, it's dangerous to believe a corporation will keep its application in scope and scale. It's absolutely going to replace people if given the opportunity. Laws and regulations around it are taking far too long to come, it seems.
I blame the lack of utilizing the hardware on the live service push as well as devs being lazy due to backwards compatibility.
I like how this gen there is very few native games do too users loving FSR/DLSS series s had native res into the sd range the x/ps5 700p-1300p range native but upscaled to 1440/4k still can not get locked 60fps most of the time pathetic.
A 6 year old pc can do locked 60fps at 720p LOL
I have to disagree. The introduction of the PS4 Pro did not stop developers from focusing on the OG PS4 as the base. And this was to the protest of some who thought the Pro wasn't being taken advantage in certain games. Based on this history, I think devs still look to the base model as... the base model. The TRUE source of your frustration is that devs were still supporting the PS4 which undoubtedly still has a huge active base. In other words, the having to have games support the PS4 automatically harms support on the PS5. Studios like Gurilla Games and SMS have yet to release PS5 only games.
I have full faith that the coming PS5 only projects will tap more directly into the PS5s true potential (look at the 2025 titles like DS2 and GTA 6). With the obvious delay caused by the pandemic, my only concern is that the PS5 will be supported far longer than 2028 just like the PS4 is now into is half way through its 11th year. The pro seems like the best choice here still though because it can see it as a viable console well into the 30s. That just seems odd to type btw.
"A couple of companies said this isn’t going to grow the market – it’s not going to move the needle. This generation doesn’t even seem to have got started really, let alone feel the need for a mid-generation update. How about we just get some original, next-generation software up and spinning?"
Ok devs who's fault is that though? The only publisher that came ready was Epic Unreal Engine 5 tech. Sure they were hit and miss with some of their tech in games but they at least brought something new to the table. The consoles released in 2020, you've all had dev kits way before then (2016-2017) to develop new tech, engines innovation. Like y'all have done all other generations. Nope y'all were too busy doing the same stuff staying cross gen and not innovating like before. They should of known Sony would have a Pro console this gen. Devs are lagging behind, take all that money that some of y'all are making from Microtransactions stop being lazy and create innovative new engines and gameplay mechanics. I know it's hard, takes allot money, resources especially time but that's part of being in the industry and a game developer. They should done these things 6 or 7 years ago because it takes so long.
Can't say I feel bad for them tbh.
"Ok devs who's fault is that though?"
Well i mean Covid messed a LOT of things up, and i feel like this whole cross gen BS that we're JUST NOW clear of was to make up for the losses and shortages that caused.
Even before covid. They could of been working on new tech back in 16 or 17. Yet only Unreal was the only one doing anything it seems.
This generation should have been a little longer than to make up for the few years of Covid we had.
This is an odd choice just make ps6 in 2026 or 2027 something in those ranges than this
The CPU certainly needed an upgrade, UE 5 titles are going to have a bit of a hard time with that Zen 2 CPU, that's why Robocop has FPS dips.
yea the CPU is already showing a bit age ... but sadly its not getting that much of a boost
They went into the bios enable xmp then turned power mode from power saver to balanced after that grabbed some blow hookers and beer went on vacation 4 years later announced there hard work.
I could do these "cpu impovements" in under 5min so fucking sad
But its a apu with a new gpu die that is were all the work went into because console players are scared of real pc parts with a real power supply.
The CPU is pretty good actually. You certainly wouldn't want to ask devs to optimize for 2 different CPUs in the same generation.
"pretty good" is not good enough, 3000 chips (Zen 2) were decent at the time, not even the best though if counting just games alone as Intel was still a bit better on minimum frame rates with their 8700k that came out the same year as Zen 1! A Whole 2 years before Zen 2 launched. Granted AMD have been doing better since then, but we're still talking about a CPU that came out in 2019 and we've had good advances since then.. and people are expecting 60FPS in games like GTA 6 with that? Ok..
Don't bring up console optimisation, it helps a bit but it's not anything huge, that's why the Steam Deck can easily emulate the Switch.
@above
Ok. Enjoy your pc dude. I’m not interested. The performance per spec doesn’t interest me along with numerous other issues. What a console generation needs for success is to not chase after every damn upgrade and wreck havoc on devs ability to optimize. Both Sony and MS know this. One cpu per gen max. This is a big reason why consoles embarrass much higher end pcs. Optimization not chasing specs. Don’t try to naysay what a difference it makes
@babadook7 People can game on whatever they want, I have no issue with it, I barely game (if ever atm) these days because many titles are just rehashes of older stuff, I look forward to S&box and some other games here and there, but not that much, I'm more interested in watching Twitch or YouTube, or messing around with AI programs or other software. I'm just stating that being a "Pro" console it could've been better, I'd say it's a bit lop sided towards the GPU pretty much as how DF put it, but that's all.
@number
Thank you even time i mention that i get hate bomb by sony blind boy's i am glad there are other users on here with basic basic pc knowledge.
The CPU did not get an upgrade with the Pro based on the rumored spec. It is mostly an upgraded GPU with whatever "AI" nodes Sony has been working on.
This is correct its just xmp enabled on the cpu and they went from a 6700 to as 6800.
Go ahead dislike this sony blindboys keep crying.
“The CPU did not get an upgrade with the Pro based on the rumored spec.“
Who are you responding to? I was referring to the cpu we already have this gen.
There's no reason for it especially when they need to be focusing on their first party games. 2024 is bleak for ps5 and a pro version console isn't solving anything.
Bleak? Lol by what standard? Playstation may not have a high amount of 1st party in 2024 but they have delivered in spades this gen so far. This year alone they've had helldivers, ff7 rb, rise of ronin, stellarblade next month. There is no games issue on Playstation side.
Why do you admit he's right, then talk like he's wrong. 1st party is terrible right now, this is the worst ive ever seen PlayStation 1st party since they got into the console business. We're staring at a huge bald spot with no announcements in the horizon. We got wolverine and whatever the hell Concord is, that's it
DO not worry they will toss out the super uper version of spider man games all over again then tlou2 then days gone or what ever ps4 port of the month.
Thanks to them shutting down there japan studio they killed over 20 titles and ff7 rb looks worse then the last one on ps4 because remake had japan studio help.
2024 and beyond is looking good if you got a PlayStation. You might need to switch platforms.
The PS5 has been out for years now. Devs say they didn’t get the most or whatever out of PS5 but what is stopping them? The Pro isn’t for everyone. If you are happy with the PS5 there is nothing wrong with that. If people want to get a Pro there is nothing wrong with it. I want one. I’ll take the extra fps with the upscaling tech and not having to lower the graphics settings. People are knocking it before it’s even out but I’m sure it will be a decent upgrade and that’s all I want. It won’t be a PS6 but it isn’t supposed to be. I will play on the Pro and my kids will get my OG PS5 to play on instead of buying a slim for them.
Delayed generation due to covid and shortages, it's been mostly cross gen till now to make up for losses
People wanna get hyped but it'll just be a repeat of the PS4 Pro. The PS4 Pro barely got any support, most games remain without a Pro patch and will never get one at this point. The thing was more for 4K, it couldn't even achieve that, and because devs had to make their games with the base model in mind, whatever extra juice the Pro could've had was underutilized. The thing about consoles is that fixed tech throughout the gen. Much rather they be the best tech for their time, be pricey but guarantee support for a decade. As frustrating as the PS360 gen was for some, you can't deny that it got long/strong support and games looked better and better somehow every year.
Oh stop, ps4 pro got tons of support. Did you even own one? All they ever promised was higher resolutions and slightly better performance, and that’s what we got.
No it never and very few games hit 4k I think 1800 p and 1400 p were the sweet spots for pro I bought for the last us part 2 and tbh it hardly looked any different same as most ps4 pro games
I do infact own that jet engine, yes. I did not buy a ps4 until the pro was released and got it within the week. It was a completely pointless thing to release, and what little it ended up doing did not justify its existence. Checkerboard 4k and slightly better fps is precisely the issue I had with it. The late gen obsession with 4K held it back from doing anything else that could've benefited games.
I don't see the conflict, it is not like those engineers can help make Uncharted 5 or something... If people don't see the need of PS5 Pro, then don't buy it.
For me, I don't see why not, if it makes games I play now can output more FPS and higher resolution, why wouldn't I want that?
Saying why PS5 Pro is happening is like saying why there are new graphic cards coming out.
Because people want it. They don't question why there's a new superpowered GPU every year or 2 which doesn't get utilised by developers. Nothing wrong with us console players having options and not having to wait 7-8 years between upgrades
Yeah when you see games like DD2 struggles on RTX 4090 I'm pretty sure PS5 Pro needs to happen to soften the blow on the console side.
It won't clean up CPU issue but it's something.
Devs don't like it because it's more work to them but they themselves also didn't do good enough job of making their games run well even on what they have almost 4 years in the bag.
Squeeze what squeeze?
You can't squeeze shit out of the console when you can't even get your games to run stable enough that's how I see it with 3rd party devs atm.
I'll probably get it, trade in my launch system. Though these days game on a 4090 rig but since gta6 won't release on pc for ages that'd be it's main purpose.
If the regular PS5 has all this untapped potential, then where are all the devs with 120fps that isn't even mentioned anymore or even a stable 60? Where's the ray tracing that doesn't gimp the whole performance? Where are all the 4K games that don't rely on 30fps slideshows. That's the reason for the overhead.
devs complained when we had complicated but power hardware, now they complain when we have easy hardware yet powerful enough to push state of the art tech, and even when the industry is moving towards iterative upgrades, they still complain. no wonder studios are trying to integrate AI technology to speed up production, these people just want to complain.
I'll take the PS5 pro, i like sony's hardware and this one is a no brainer.
I'm not sure better hardware is what we need. We keep moving forward, budgets increase exponentially while we are seeing diminishing returns in visuals. Performance seems to stay the same even when we double the hardware. Would be more reasonable to slow down and just use what we have and learn how to make the best of it for a moment. A pro probably won't lead to steady fps and all that, scope just increases leaving us where we started.
I read this as costing devs more money and time, on the consumer end I want more powerful hardware options, always and forever.
Would they say the same thing every time a new CPU/GPU comes out each year?
It's partly their fault of not be able to optimize their games and take chances yet the team that do take advantage of the current gen hardware already demanded of faster CPU.
As for the Pro itself it simply just a hardware refresh, take it or leave it, PS6 a few years away if they want a leap in hardware, it's not hard to fathom.
Any enhanced console knew it only have a year or two to shine anything after its going to take a backseat make way for next gen console.
Pro console is Sony admission that their hardware is aging fast especially when we constantly keep hitting the diminishing returns even on high end hardware imagine trying to achieve better results than that with lesser hardware and comparatively affordable price they have to hit with their console.
The truth of the matter is everyone's hitting the wall and hardware leap kind of stopped a few years back in PC space and it won't be any better on consoles, all these manufacturers claimed big improvement but that big gains claim just doesn't happen on middle tier hardware.
It would help if sony stopped using portable guts in there big plastic box a real pc setup would help alot
But your 100% correct.
I’m probably going to be buy one maybe wait until next year. Hopefully next year will bring more titles because it really doesn’t make sense unless you are a fan. With having games to show a difference when it launches is going to be a hard sale.. Even with them updating previous games with the pro, it’s not going to change peoples minds. There really hasn’t been a lot of titles that were ps5 only titles this gen as of yet. So I agree with the questions why but I do plan on picking one up next hopefully a long with the Switch predecessor.
So like..do better devs...you just admitted you screwed the pooch on making the games.
The only reason I see the pro coming out is to hurt the Microsoft Series S and Nintendo Switch 2, forcing developers into making the PS5 the base entry model for their games.
Due to PlayStation's huge Market Share, I expect average studios to drop Xbox versions due to Serie's parity clause
focusing on the PlayStation only.
Squeeze what left out of the PS5? Rebirth already chokes it to death. The thing is, for the next console, Sony just needs to go all out and make a console that's already powerful from the start, stop pussyfooting around this $500 threshold. I'd rather just pay 700 or more if it means not having to shell out another 500 for a pro version later. We rag on the Xbox for having an X/S version but this is basically the same thing happening. Just make one ultra powerful console and be done with it.
Just like saying why do people upgrade there phones or the cpu or gpu/ram. it's there to give u the best possible performance as possible. Despite ps5 having the same cpu just slightly overclock it's possibly to give u more of a steady fps in a cpu usage type of games
I also question why PS5 Pro is happening. We still haven't shaken off the previous gen yet. This generation has been really slow to get going. To me it seems we haven't really seen what this generation is truly capable of and now we're talking Pro consoles? I just don't see the need for them at this point.
Maybe the key to getting more out of the current hardware is devs optimise their code better? Seems that too many games are released now that perform below par, and need to be patched. I'm sure there's more headroom if the devs just took more time and care before pushing their products out the door.
spiderman 2 at 4k/60fps with enhanced raytracing
I'm pretty sure well find out day one, what the pro brings to the table
And I get down voted for what exactly? Wanting higher resolution? Or because I have an 85"?
They know people will buy it so they don't really care. If the leaked specs are anything to go by, there may be a bit of a bottleneck.
This generation has been wholly underwhelming in terms of performance. 4k120fps printed on retail packaging yet there's only a few games that can achieve that...3 and a half years in, whilst sacrificing detail in other areas.
Some stand outs like Horizon: Forbidden West really do look current gen, but those gems are few and far between.
Just look at Dragon's Dogma 2 as a recent example. AAA game in 2024...20-30fps. A long way from 4k/120.
no need for pro as this generation has has zero true AAA next gen games (yes there are a handful)
but with the high hight cost and 5-6 year dev process there is no need for a pro...
focus on getting us games for PS5 first and release PS6 in 6-8 years...
some peeps just received their PS5 due to lack of PS5's...
stop the insanity and oh yeah there are 150K peeps out of work - focus on hiring peeps and build back better !
I said this before, so many games for the first few years of the PS5 lifecycle were cross-gen games that weren't truly pushing the hardware. We've only had a handful of PS5 exclusive titles to begin to scratch the surface.
Couple that with Covid and plenty of people not even getting their hands on the console over the first 2 years of its existence, and this Pro model feels like a money grab and a slap in the face.
No, you don't HAVE to upgrade, but the timing feels rushed.
I don't see the point either as 99% of devs aren't even bothering to optimize games properly and it will be made worse with the PS5 Pro as devs are getting lazy.
Series S should not exist, now devs are mad at Sony for pushing the industry forward while M$ holds an entire generation of gaming behind.
They scooped up a ton of studios and force gimped versions of their games on their budget console. That’s the problem—Pro games are optional and Sony first party will lead the way per usual.
So, are consumers.
Hell, I’m still questioning this entire gen. Like when will it start, next-gen when the PS6 launches?
This is dumb, if they are making 30fps games they should be happy to have the extra power to push this to 60fps.
It doesn't. It has extra power to render games at higher resolutions. It doesn't have the CPU power to make the jump from 30 to 60, assuming the CPU is the bottleneck, which more often than not will be on 30fps games.
Be careful. Too many users are butthurt because they feel left behind by those who decide to get one. They need us to hate it. They need it to fail because they can't handle their creeping sense of buyers remorse. If they don't want one, or can't afford one, then we're not allowed to buy one either.
I think it's happening to give devs a chance to see, use and learn more about PSSR and the machine learning Sony plans for PS6.
PS5 10.5 Tflops and PS5 PRO 33.5 tflops, I know people before you even type it tflops isn't an exactly good measure, but it's what we have and I think it's not a bad idea. I have a beef PC but honestly I don't play it much because my friends are on PS so that's where I play.
Only when using their somewhat convoluted measurement.
Compared to the standard PS5, it equates to around 16tflops which is still amazing.
What games? I actually thinks it's the worst state gaming has been in for years. Thinking Big AAA games here.
I don't remember it being better. I've been playing games nonstop, good quality games. maybe you have been gaming with Nintendo or something, which might be the reason you think it's the worst.
FF16, Demon Souls Remake, Ratchet Clank Rift Apart, Returnal, FF7 Rebirth, and GT7. There's at least one a year. This doesn't mention all the other great non "AAA" games that have been released, and defining VR 2 games. And in the future there's a ton more
The total of PS4 heavy hitters and I am being generous is around 12, you could bring it up to 14. They are still releasing at the same rate.
These games you mention there are the same game we have seen over and over. Nothing new and original. I don't play the games you are playing. I'm a Triple AAA gamer quality games. Off cause I could go play a lot of old games but I want new stuff but there aren't any.. I'm on ps here. Only one every one is looking forward to is GTA 6. The days with the big hyped AAA games well made are totally gone. Off cause Covid has a lot to say about that but it's also clear something has happened within the industry. And PS VR is never gonna take off and it's the last VR made by Sony that's for sure.
Moving goal posts. When they do 3rd person narrative games, people say all the games are the same. When they have variety, people complain.
I haven't seen a Demon Souls game like that before. FF fans are loving those games, Rift apart made use of the tech, Returnal is something completely different, and GT7 is the premier racer.
In sum, I can go play old Narratives, Roguelikes, RPGs, and Platformers too. Everybody can. But there are reasons why we don't.
People will upgrade their cellphone every 2 years or so, and without a “ripoff” cellphone plan will spend $500-$1200 to upgrade their phone. Paying $500-$600 for a console upgrade every 3 years doesn’t seem that extraordinary.
And that's y it's all fucked ure comparing a cellphone to a plastic hobby box totally different phone is essential to most a console is not
The price is not the problem. Game's library is still poor. Maybe Monster Hunter and Lego Undercover will have some good effects but that's not enough. Nintendo, bring more games that are actually worth buying and playing.
It's because many are saving money for PS4 and 720..I can't blame them though since most will only have enough funds to purchase one console with games its smart to wait and see what Sony and Microsoft will have to offer this holiday.
Provided Nintendo has some quality software to release this holiday season, coupled with a potential price cut in the larger markets, they could stand to do quite well.
Sure all the attention will be on the PS4 and 720 (assuming that one releases this holiday as well). However I can almost guarantee you there will be a hardware shortage making actually finding one of those consoles quite difficult without a preorder. As a result, Nintendo could snag some extra buyers if they have an attractive price coupled with some AAA software.
But without the games, nobody is going to buy this thing. Things will pick up as the year progresses.
There's no killer games & the price is still far to high for what it is. I'm sure Nintendo can turn it around like they did the 3DS. But competition in the console space is far stronger & offering far more, I feel it's gonna make money, but be like the Nintendo 64/Gamecube than a Wii like success.
I will probably buy a Wii U when its below $199 & Smash Bros has to have been released along with several other exclusives. I have never bought a system for just 1 game & never will.
