The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Review: The Suffering | Polygon

Polygon: "The tide has begun to turn for licensed games thanks to great efforts like those from Telltale, Rocksteady’s Batman franchise and others. Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is the exact sort of lazy, cheap cash-grab that gave licensed games a bad name in the first place. To put a slightly less nostalgic twist on an old cliche: They don’t make ‘em like this anymore."

this game really just proves they should let telltale do everything walking dead related

Telltale's walking dead games were great, it was definitely my top 5 in 2012 just because of the emotional impact it had on me... But technically speaking, they were awful. The amount of frame rate problems or game freezes makes no sense when you consider how little processing power this game should be using.

Their engine needs to be fixed. I really hope season 2 does not have these issues.

RonRico4048d ago

I agree the frame rate thing was weird for a visually less demanding type of game.

On another note, an fps walking dead game could be awesome if created by the right team. I guess not like this one.

I'm not defending this game but why should TT only do The Walking Dead...the point and click games they done wern't that good like many people claim them to be, pretty over rated in my opinion. I felt hardly no emotional attachment to any of them.

Just because TT did a good Walking Dead game dosen't mean they should be the only ones to do it

I don't want a point and click WD game, I want to get in on the action. I would love to see a third person open world survival game from someone where you start in a small estate and only can venture out into the big world once you've raided homes and collected/improved a lot of your stuff. You know those perks in Fallout New Vegas the medical and survival ones they would be great in a game like this.

That's the thing: as soon as a dev does something good no matter prior record, they at once get loyalist.

Robotronfiend4047d ago

Based on the technical performance of the TT WD game, I do not believe they would be able to produce a solid FPS game. Sure, they can do story when Kirkman is sitting on their shoulders watching, but the technical aspect of a FPS game is incredibly important. This is something they did not do well previously.

Lol no one is suprised, I barely heard of the game like 1 month ago and they release it already.

Just torrented this, played fifteen minutes, then uninstalled.

How could anyone pay $49.99 for this trash?

xPhearR3dx4048d ago

I thought they canceled the PC version until I read this comment. I'll be damned. I shall join you just to see how bad it really is lol

Robotronfiend4047d ago

Did you record your game play? I don't even want to d/l it, just watch the carnage and move on. :-)

eliteslaya134047d ago

I could, but frankly, I don't even want to play the game.

SpiralTear4048d ago

Did anyone really expect this game to be worth anyone's time or money? Even worse, I have a chilling feeling that it will sell just because it has the name "Walking Dead" in it. Sad, really.

Still, it was worth the click just to be able to read a review with the word "ZomBiebers" in it. Kudos, Justin.
