BioShock Infinite Review in Progress

IGN has stated in a recent review-in-progress for Bioshock Infinite:

"Yes, Columbia is stunning from a scale, scope, and art-direction perspective, but on a raw graphical level it is a bit underwhelming on the Xbox 360 version I’m starting with. Textures are muddy and low-resolution and the framerate takes regular slight-but-noticeable dips. It reminds me of the console version of Dishonored in that way."

In a few weeks time we will have articles that contain the date of when they will have the article that says "Review in progress"

The PS3 version of the game has already been leaked online a whole week before release! Some people are already playing it on modded PS3s. However, they are a very small minority since only old PS3s with firmware version 3.55 or lower can be modded. They are saying that the game is awesome especially the visuals and the music.

They won't get jack S*** from Irrational. I pre-ordered and wait on my fellow Steam community to give me the best value for Bioshock Infinite via Pre-order rewards. Last I checked wewereat 86% till Xcom: Enemy Unknown, The last of the pre-order rewards.

Steam has the absolute best incentives for picking up Bioshock Infinite on the PC!

Edit: I stand corrected. 93% and it looks like Xcom is coming in before the day of release. Congrats to those that made it possible.

Awaiting payment from 2K games.

Full review coming march 21

Part of me doesn't want to see or here about the review. I think I will leave gaming sites starting now. I don't want to even risk spoilers with this one as well as seeing scores influences much of what I will expect. Shakes fist at air for GTA IV 10 when San Andreas got a 9.9 IGN. Farewell N4G and other gaming sites. See you after I beat the game

dedicatedtogamers4049d ago

Interesting. I'm waiting for a few months for this one to go on sale on PC before I buy, but it's sad to see how current-gen consoles can't even handle current-gen games without making significant sacrifices.

Ken levine said the PS3 version is the best console version, while this guy is playing the 360 version also its the end of the generation right now what you expect. When PC parts are getting out dated I am positive you can see dip in performance.

If you have the money I would say buy this game full price, support the developers especially irrational because they are building something better than every game release so far that anyone bought at full price recently.

Merrill4049d ago

Link to Ken Levine's quote?

InactiveUser4049d ago (Edited 4049d ago )

May not be what classic is talking about, but here's something I found:

"PlayStation.Blog: How is work proceeding with the PS3 version of BioShock Infinite?

Ken Levine, President and Creative Director, Irrational Games: Look, I'm not blowing smoke here. We were Xbox-first for the original game, and now we have something to demonstrate to the PlayStation 3 audience. We love the platform. I have three PS3s at my house. It's a great game system and I love the kinds of games that are coming out on PSN.

The PS3 has a different architecture than we had encountered before, but because we helped port BioShock to the PS3, we've become very familiar with it. And we have a new engine for BioShock Infinite, so we started the game knowing we'd be on PS3. We started thinking about how to leverage the multiple cores from the start of development, so we're in a much better place this time on PS3."

But quote or not.. the PS3 version comes with the original BioShock (in the US, maybe all of North America), which seals the deal of the PS3 version being the best console version as far as the total package goes.

fermcr4049d ago

PC version it is... like there was any doubt.

Chuk54049d ago

I've passed on every game this month, for Infinite.
I hope it turns out well.

Mottsy4049d ago (Edited 4049d ago )

Same here! I just watched the up at noon interview with Troy Baker and I am soo hyped for this game!

A little long but worth the watch

HammadTheBeast4049d ago

eff their opinions, buy it anyways :)

Myze4049d ago (Edited 4049d ago )

Tomb Raider was too good to pass up. Would strongly recommend it, even if you have to wait for a good sale. But I agree in that this (Bioshock) is definitely the biggest game on my list till The Last of Us.

Top 10 Rarest Xbox 360 Games That Are Worth a Fortune

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy267d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz266d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher266d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy266d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg266d ago (Edited 266d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

sadraiden266d ago

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
