Good. The worst Elder Scrolls game ever made doesn't need more buggy DLC. If anything they need to drop all support for this garbage and focus on making an engine that actually works for their next Elder Scrolls.

Well with 8gigs of RAM on the PS4, they have no excuse next gen.

aLucidMind4054d ago

8gb RAM doesn't negate the pressures of limited time and money, regardless of how valid or invalid that excuse is (it depends on the situation). So they still do.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think more RAM will help prevent bugs. I'm generally unsure as I don't know much about computer components.

@aLucidMind I'm not saying it makes it easier to make a game as big as it was. Lack of RAM was one of the the main reasons Skyrim was so buggy on the PS3 to begin with. The next was its unique cell processor. Now that the PS4 is closer related to a PC architecture, I'm saying Bethesda won't have an excuse as to being unable to provide DLC at the same time as another platforms just because it isn't easy to convert them, again because of lack of RAM. They will still be buggy of course, but it will be greatly reduced.

I'd prefer their next game to be Fallout 4. It would be nice if they could alternate the 2 franchises, that way each new entry could be more spaced out and have more fresh/original ideas.

And Bethesda has stated before that they already have a brand new state of the art engine, they said it was being used for their next game after Skyrim.

Whilst I won't call it the best Elder Scrolls game or worst, ultimately that's left up to the opinion of individual gamers. Personally it was my favourite game in the series, and I bought all of the DLC on PS3 and have yet to experience a single bug. I'm not saying they're not there, it's just that I, personally have not encountered anything. I sincerely hope that they have more DLC coming. I liked all of the DLC, especially Serana that comes with Dawnguard. :)

The Skyrim engine is perfectly fine. Most of the bugs are attributed to the lack of testing for such a large game.

deadlyillness: The Skyrim engine is perfectly fine.

No it's not most of the bugs were just issues with the engine. it's old and it needs to go.. Gamebryo was never good in the first place.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
