EuroGamer: "Sony's Santa Monica Studio has clarified its involvement with The Last Guardian and distanced itself from the heavily delayed PlayStation game, after reports early last year suggested the God of War developer was helping out on the title."
As spotted by Portuguese site Geekinout, the PlayStation Studios developer is currently hiring for a number of key positions, including a lead audio designer, lead narrative animator, a systems design producer, a senior animation programmer, a senior character artist, a senior narrative designer, and, most notably in this case, a senior technical combat designer.
They are working on another project as well which is ahead of this. But I definitely don’t want it to be wipeout. I loved those but wipeout would not be a AAA. SSM is too talented not to make something epic.

This includes Sony Santa Monica. Its a good thing we have SBI detected that is growing day after day by the thousands.
Worse case scenario, buy those games second hand if in any doubt... this way developers will get no money. Will it change much in short term? Nah, especially with that sweet sweet ESG funding and similar things. But long term? Heads will roll sooner or later.

Ive been here for every god of war, after nearly 20yrs i would just like to see them do something else. I get they are still great games, but it just seems like a waste of their largest studio.
After Ascension selling considerably less than God of War III they had to change things up. They could release a new IP, learn some new things, then release a new God of War improved by the lessons they've learned doing something different. Ascension's multiplayer was awesome btw.

IMO Santa Monica has produced the best ps5 game this gen so far, even though it was cross gen. Ragnarok was a fine piece. This game will probably be released at the end of the ps5 cycle.
Still no word on Naughty Dog’s next title. And Sucker Punch is rumored to be releasing Ghost of Tsushima 2 next year. I hope Sony will fill in this large void of games with some reveals in the upcoming showcase.

Returnal was quite good. I did enjoy that as well. I just thought as a single player game Ragnarok nailed it and it was quite lengthy too.
Horizon had a large map to explore but I just wish there was more to do after you beat it.
Bend studios is going to be a multiplayer title, looking forward to see what that will be.

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.
There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.
I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!
Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!
I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.
I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.

I do not blame them for not wanting to be associated with TLG...sure its full of promises and the concept is brilliant but ICO pulled a Peter Molenaux - the only difference is that Japanese developers have pride and integrity so they wont release a game that does not meet what they promised - Peter on the other hand does not give a crap because he knows Fables has a fanbase and they will buy the game regardless.
No developer want to be labeled as the people who promised Duke Nukem, Agent, FF Versus and Half Life but could not deliver and when the did the game took too long and excitement level was not the same.
To be totally honest i think it is wise to give the developers all the time they need to make the best possible game. And this is why i love Sony! They want the developers to be happy and get out the the game they imagined exactly how they want it! Another example is Resistance 3. When Insomniac asked for more time they gave it and in the end they made the best game of the franchise! There are so many more games to keep us busy... they'll come when it's their time! Also SSM should focus on God of war 4 and their new IP!!!!
At least we know that the game is not dead yet. Really can't wait to play this when it is released.
I'm not surprised they're not involved. SSM will always be a talented studio but this isn't their IP. I'm sure they have their own projects to work on. Leave this baby to Ueda and his team. I'm sure they know what they're doing.
