Massive Update Bringing HD Textures and Fixes to Aliens: Colonial Marines

Aliens: Colonial Marines wasn't very well received, and with good reason - the game sucked. This was especially so for PC, where the developers had seemingly took everything that was good about the console version - and it was slim pickings there as well - and made it worse. Even the graphics seemed to take a knock, in part thanks to FPS glitches that some suffered from. Gearbox have this morning announced that they're bringing a pretty major patch to the game's PC version in the hopes of smoothing everything out. I can't imagine it'll fix the myriad of game issues, but it might just make it less "not at all playable."

Too late.

The damage has been done.

Gamers have long memories.

More than just long memories. We aren't all stupid. This release let down everyone. Alien games aren't made as often as other franchises so when it comes to it everyone wants a game that can last. But to get a game that can't even stand up is a disappoint to gamers, the fans of the franchise, and most of all the people behind it.

I am not one to hold a grudge. Especially if a dev is making efforts to fix what they know was broke. I will give the game a chance after its fixed. It can't get worse than it is.

Too little too late indeed.

Gearbox took us all for fools and Im not about to forget that.

long memories really? How come then people complained like hell about PS3 Skyrim performance issues after the nonsense Bethesda did with Fallout 3? People either forget fast or have selective memories.

Do not ever try to heal a dead man. It's way too late.

You only get ONE chance ONE chance...

You know it must be nice to spend millions of dollars of other people's money and then turn out a shit product and not get fired....I hope someones getting fired for this shit. shit shit shit that's what this game is.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
