I haven't played this game yet but like
I said before GOW 3 was a really disappointing game to me, and it didn't make me jump for joy over the announcement of this game, but I will give it a try and see can this franchise win me back over.

If GOW 3 was a disappointing game for you then you're not a fan of the genre nor a fan of the GOW franchise.

GOW Ascension is every bit the technological achievement that GOW3 was.
However, it provides clarity for the past. Most folks are frowning on it because the game is not center on whats next for Kratos.

There seems to be alot of complaining about Ascension either because its a prequel, its not radically different or theyve had enough of the series.

For me, I never played any of the PSP games, so this is only the 2nd GoW game for me this gen.

I'm interested what in what happened before GoW1.
I'm not burnt out on the series nor do I want something totally different, just refined and improved.
If I wanted different Id play a different game.

The game seems like its added enough stuff to keep it fresh. Cant wait.

I played the death out of GOW 1, 2 and Chains of Olympus. GOW 3 was my most disappointing game ever. The story was a major screw up, the entire game took place on a single mountain and the gameplay was all about combat, since the puzzles and platforming were easy and forgettable.

Dude get the hell out of here my favorite games of all time are the first 2 GOW games followed closely behind them is the original super Mario Bros. I've played every single GOW game including the psp and cell phone games, But at the end of the day god of war game play hasn't evolved it's a repeat hack and slash with quick time events and once a dam good story but even that was a let down in 3 the just shiot got old.

What technology graphics is that all it take to impress you, We call that down here easily entertain.

Don't even bother with GOW Ascension, if you didn't like GOW 3.
GOW 3 IMO was the best God Of War To Date.

GOW 3 was one hell of a game! Just played the opening level again and watching the gods and titans battle in the background is just amazing.

Arrived today and started playing.

I think the reviewers are being a little harsh on GoW:A. For the most part they shine it in good light but I often hear that it's 'more of the same' and 'doesn't match up to the other games' but so far, it's the GoW I love to play. This is, really, the best way for the game to go in the PS3. You had this amazing looking game 3 years ago called GoW 3 that ended a trilogy and concluded a story. But you can't just have one game with that engine. I personally wanted to see more with this engine and what else SSM could do.

Yes, it's more of the same but that isn't a bad thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Bottom line; if you're a fan of GoW, you'll definitely love this.
