I personally think much more of a middle ground would be a good idea!

Kalowest4053d ago (Edited 4053d ago )

I happy that they release a GTA ever 4 or 5 years, it show that they really care about the series. The "middle ground" is the high quality episodic/expansions that they release months after the game is released.

MikeMyers4053d ago

I think every 3 years or so would be the perfect fit. Most console cycles last about 6 years so it would be nice to see 2 on each generation. No way would I like to see one every year.

Assassins Creed could be an awesome series as well if they had it every 3 years as well. Really take the time to craft a great new installment.

This is why we need more IP's so that the wait for 3 years doesn't really seem like it. Instead we get pounded with annual releases and don't appreciate them as much.

Nimblest-Assassin4053d ago

I want ubisoft to learn from this

I mean look how well farcry 3 ended up... why is AC their only yearly release?

TXIDarkAvenger4053d ago

This way is much better. There is so much to explore and find in GTA games. This is the kind of series that actually lasts 3-4 years. Not to mention the DLC Rockstar puts out is top notch and they can add so much more to GTA V. I can't wait any longer!

claud34053d ago

only if it was a yearly release, they would sell out the series

MYSTERIO3604053d ago

I want Rockstar to stick with this development cycle as releasing the game every 2 years would decrease the quality of the game.

EliteDave934053d ago

Thats true. But then again, Now GTA fans have to wait 5 years for a full console GTA game and thats just way to long in my opinion.

Taco_Waffle4053d ago

3 came out in 2001, vice city in 2002, and san andreas in 2004 and nobody griped about milking it then. I don't see what's wrong with releasing a title every 2 years if it's done right.

omi25p4053d ago (Edited 4053d ago )

Well this generation a lot of games from Rockstar they just weren't titled GTA

Im glad they are doing more than GTA.

Even though GTA IV is my favorite game this generation i wouldn't have wanted another one 3 or 4 years later.

I want them to continue being the best developer by making other ground breaking games that aren't just copying everything else.

If they had started developing GTA V straight after IV we wouldnt have had Red Dead Redemption, L.A Noire, Max Payne 3, TBOGT and TLATD

BitbyDeath4053d ago

Hope this ends up on PS4 as well.
I'd easily get this at launch if it does.

TXIDarkAvenger4053d ago

Your saying it as if GTA V on PS4 is significantly different than the 360/PS3 versions. It won't be, more so the same and probably look the same for that matter.

BitbyDeath4053d ago

No it's just launching a bit close to the PS4 and i'll only keep one unit hooked up in the lounge.

Likely trade my PS3 in as soon as the PS4 releases.

FarCryLover1824053d ago

Was there any ever doubt? 5 years and 5 months later the sequel comes after 4.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar35d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo35d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg35d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos35d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
