Kotaku - One of my biggest problems with Dead Space 3 is that it is utterly lacking in the hallucination department. What happened to all those twisted, freaky things I witnessed in the first two titles?
Playing as Isaac got you close to zero hallucinations. You could get minor satisfaction in co-op while playing as Carver, but even then the acid trippy moments felt thin. And weak.
If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.
Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.
Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.
WTMG's Kyle Nicol:
"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?
Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."
With the upcoming Dead Space Remake, we replay and rank the original three games.

They need to seriously continue this ip with a new entry. Even if it's just another movie I don't care I love everything about this game.
I'm not buying the creepiness that should never have been removed. I enjoyed the game for what it was but no DLC for me.
Honestly, now that I've finally got to playing three, I don't agree with all the hate the game is getting.
I've played the series now, back to back, and there isn't all that much difference between any of the games, outside of a difference in pacing.
That said, Dead Space never really came off as horror to me, being that nothing in the game was all that scary. Again, this is personal opinion. I have friends who steer away from the game in general because it is too much for them.
Honestly, I feel the game did some things better than the others, like replacing the illogical 'shop' system with a more believable crafting system. It just makes more sense.
To me, the series has always been an action game with great atmosphere. I've gotten this with every game in the series and I am happy with every release. I loved three and consider it a fantastic game,
I definitely plan on grabbing the dlc once I am ready to do my co-op playthrough.
