hopefully that rumor the nintendo will release a beta on the day of their E3 conference is true cause that can help improve the online play for launch

Dj7FairyTail4054d ago (Edited 4054d ago )

Maybe if Nintendo and Namco got far enough for an alpha beta. If not then Sakurai will give a Full 1080 at 60FPS Trailer Real Time Gameplay.

The overall system and gameplay will be refined. I see this more of a reboot that will take everything from the past game and expand on it. All Brawl characters return with new movesets which Sakurai said "The existing characters will have new movesets." referring to Brawl. Hope Mewtwo returns.

It will be the best looking game ever on console because of it tiny scale and it not a open world or big scale game or like God of War. The graphic will be superb.

This is the roster I made.

I totally agree with sakurai on players who wait to be attacked. . thats puss . .. ive been through many players who do like that. just imagine, you set up a match, and when it comes time to duel the other player waits for you to attack 1st, leaving your guard open. anyone can do it like that. pussy-toe stuff . .
i disagree with sakurai about the items though. When it comes to competitive play, items should not be used. .

Here's 1 player getting jumped by 3 others caught on tape.

Bullying like this makes for online enjoyment nearly impossible.

That's one point where I find Playstation All-Stars being superior. It rewards aggressiveness. I prefer Smash though. Maybe the sequel will be better.

gamefiles4055d ago (Edited 4055d ago )

Just curious, what do you mean by that Sony's all stars is superior to brawl?
Just because another competitor plays brawl like a scaredy-cat?
but i'm sorry partner, i don't know what you are trying to say.

Though in what way do you suppose the next smash bros will be better than brawl do you think?

One way they could make smash bros even better is if they give the Donkey Kong character his Air Down"B" move, he does not have one. And another way they could improve the smash series is if they give us some REAL Free Falling Action, but REAL this time.

The team who worked on Super Smash Brothers Brawl did something very similar to Free Falling Play, but they didn't have time to finish designing that. Instead of floating with the fall, the characters remain standing, only the back-round changes lol even though we still get transported to a whole NEW stage xD.

What if we get some actual Mid-Air Combat this time.
That would be nuts!

Imagine falling towards the surface of the earth at 45 miles per hour next to bowsers. He grabs a hold of you and turns your landing into an Earthly Body sLAMm!

!!!!pLoW!!!!

(((((((((wait wait wait! a second!!)))))))))

Nintendo has already allowed for King Coopa to come out in Wreck It Ralph the movie, neck to neck, with the Street Fighters. that means

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!

M.Bison VS Ganondorf?

What is going on here!?

ThatArtGuy4054d ago

I said that Brawl is a better game. However, Brawl rewards defensiveness whereas All-Stars rewards aggressiveness. If you hang out on the side of the map and don't fight, you can't win. You can steal KO's in Brawl left and right without doing much work.

ThatArtGuy4054d ago (Edited 4054d ago )

In order to win, you *have* to be aggressive to gain AP to get a knockout. In Smash you can hide until someone gets to 100% and jump into the fray and knock someone out with a single hit. It is possible to win a single life stock match with literally three smashes by playing defensively, which clearly isn't possible in All-Stars.

TuxedoMoon4055d ago

I never had this issue, but I can see why it can be a problem. I'm not that good at Smash bros, but I would've just attacked them all relentlessly instead of just attacking one at a time like in the video. I doubt those other players were coordinated enough to work as a team and take down Ganondorf.

I just hope this new smash bros is faster and heavier than Brawl. My main issue with Brawl were the slow and floaty physics, stale-moves mechanic, and tripping. Thankfully the Brawl+ mod made brawl fun enough for me not to sell it.

BullyMangler4055d ago

heres a neat trick you can try if you want . when floating back down onto the stage, if you tap down on the joystick and hold it down, the characters actually zoom down faster . ive been in some fights where all players know this, and when i see the replays, the matches look totally fast, too fast . as for the tripping, i think its totally fine, just because everyone has that default, and when it does happen and we get hit, i dont take it as abiggie, kus i tripped . . .stale mechanic moves i dont know what u mean there . have fun trying this

Dj7FairyTail4054d ago

Oh I hate when people wait til the first person attack then that person get jumped. I always get jumped but recently I haven't found matches where that happens.

PopRocks3594055d ago

I've encountered that issue before as well. Really douchey players who just jump up and down or sit idly by are really lousy players. It's frustrating because they're not playing the game properly. Hopefully in the next game they will have the option of 1v1 matches only.

This makes me hope all the more that the online beta rumor for Smash Bros. is true.

TruthbeTold4055d ago

I totally understand no items, because some of them are ridiculous. But one of the good things about them is that they can balance the run away crap.

It's the height of (enter insult here) to play no items, then play run away.

Pathetic.

PopRocks3594055d ago

Exactly! There really should be a penalty for anyone who just jumps up and down or just sits still in a match with those kinds of rules. I say let a Bob-Omb drop on their heads.

Kevlar0094055d ago (Edited 4055d ago )

Having more than 2 players should nullify stats, just play because you want to play in a fun multiman FFA match. 1v1 would be the comptetitive match-up, since you have to fight sooner or later. Also competitive only on Stock match, don't want people getting one kill then evading for 2-3 minutes.

Have a "light" online mode: full items, 4 players, kill system, no stats
Then a "heavy" online mode: no items, 2 players, 5 stock, record stats

People could host their own custom matches where they pre-set items, gametype, and other features. Miiverse for mini-tourney's. They key is to not throw together a multiplayer online mode, but to fully flesh it out. Make it a core feature

TuxedoMoon4055d ago

If the online mimicked that of DOA2u or MK9, then it would be amazing. Pick and make rooms, watch fights, edit rules, have a vote button to kick players, tournament set up, TEAM tournament set ups...

They can do a lot...

Jagsrock4055d ago

They need to make Lobbies that way it's easier to find matches with like minded players.

I feel bad for Smash fans. Those guys have been trying to maintain the scene active for 20+ years and get nothing but hate from Nintendo.

RoseSapphire334d ago

Sakurai explains how he and Nintendo still don't understand how the internet works.

FTFY

Snookies12334d ago

Exactly, online play would be wonderful on Smash if Nintendo gave a crap about their online services. To be fair though, Nintendo's online offerings would be great if it were 15-20 years ago lol.

jambola334d ago

I've always said that Nintendo is either innovative and ahead of the curve
or 20 years behind, no in between

CrimsonWing69334d ago

I’m sorry, but if a game is MP then there’s no f*cking argument that can justify no online MP. What he says about competition being different from just playing with friends shows me how out of touch these people are.

It’s not until a new generation that understands things steps in to clean-house that we’ll see some evolution here.

Vanfernal334d ago

His argument is nonsensical. "You'd be limited to just playing people from your region". As opposed to being limited to playing people FROM YOUR COUCH!

CrimsonWing69334d ago

What I don’t get is how do you not have competition and experience the same issue if you have a friend that’s way better than you?

GoodGuy09334d ago

It's a big fighting game so online multiplayer is a must. Competitive smash is the only thing I see fun in these games anymore asides from the big character reveals, singleplayer is laughable and you ain't gunna have people over for couch gaming much.

If Nintendo makes a new smash, it needs a huge evolution for singleplayer/couch play to be enjoyable for me any more. But we all know they'll just do a deluxe edition for their next console lol. They really need to up their servers as well.

NotoriousWhiz334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

I can't imagine Nintendo producing a better smash game than ultimate. Roll it forward with a deluxe edition maybe with an extra character or two and call it a day.

Some other developers can try pushing platform fighters to the next level, because I don't think Nintendo is up to the task.

DarthZoolu333d ago

They already created a better smash brothers game than ultimate when they created melee

masterfox334d ago

he sounds more like is trying to justify Nintendo ineptitude to create a proper network infrastructure in order to Smash Brothers work properly online.
