Leaked Footage Of Star Wars’ Newest Take On Battlefield And Call of Duty

Over the past few days, I've been talking to multiple sources about Star Wars: First Assault, the troubled multiplayer shooter that could be LucasArts's downloadable take on Battlefield and Call of Duty.

Disney clearly has the money to invest in this game and the industry has been waiting for a successor to Battlefront 3. This looks like it switches from 1st to 3rd through melee attacks(ala Halo) and with some polish be a solid game. Include vehicles and we can have a winner. I am sure Disney will f-ck this up like they do many other things.

Chances are this game was in development way before Disney bought SW and simple little idiots don't realize how much creative control Lucas films will still have over the creation of the movies...disney will just attract bigger talent and wants the $$$$

It's about time they start to look at making another Star Wars FPS. Since battlefront 2, the genre has gone from strength to strength in popularity. Providing they make it a "Star Wars" game and not call of start wars, it should be freaking awesome.

Sad to say, but most FPSs will be influenced by Call of Duty to one degree or another until CoD finally goes away. Even BF was changed by the CoD machine. I'd say there is a 99% chance that this game will be mindless like CoD.

Since I can't reply to your reply: First Assault isn't Battlefront though, it's meant to gauge if there is still interest in this kind of game. If there were a full Battlefront game, I'm sure they'd add the option. LucasArts generally isn't one to screw fans over like that.

Well not everyone is a die hard BF or CoD fan. I'd MUCH rather have a somewhat original Battlefront experience than a game series that has been repeatedly beat to death...revived then beat to death again. Once again a case of listening for the dollar signs than what the customer wants. Thats half the problem with gamers today is that they'll let developers do that. Your response has nothing to do with what I said on a side note...I said people have been eager for Battlefront 3 and we get a CoD/BF clone. Battlefront was pretty much Battlefield but in third person and with a Star Wars coat of paint. Calm down, you've seen less than 30 seconds of footage, we don't even know if this game is coming out. That said, all these "leaks" make me think we'll have an official announcement soon.

People afraid that Disney will ruin this? LucasArts were already ruining themselves during this generation (No new KOTOR, no new JK, no new BF, no new Republic Commando) and their new games are disappointing like that EPIII game, Force Unleashed and all those lego spawns.

If you people knew what LucasArts capable of, since the late 80s to 2005, you should very optimistic that Disney WILL save LucasArts from its doom.
