I'm not surprised some reviews have reviewed it in the lower or upper 7s instead of 9's. From the offset I felt GOW Ascension simply was not as ambitious as like PS2 games ( GOW 2 still best in the series), and needed to do more to set itself apart. I didn't even like Kratos in this game..

OK, I didn't even start the SP campaign yet, but the multiplayer mode already kills that notion.

The multiplayer is un-freaking believable. What other multiplayer game this gen even comes close to what ascension offers?

The maps are amazing with crazy multiple levels, traps, and items. The Labyrinth level is just insane! Pulling the chain and riding in the cage while the WHOLE map rotates and kills everyone! The Bog level with the HUGE medusa chick and being able to control where her gaze gets shot!...the Perseus shield!! I mean, really...it seems I am playing a different game then the one people are reviewing. Either they don't understand how to play the multiplayer and go in trying to square, square, triangle their way to victory or they just don't like MP modes.

Ascension comes along with a SOLID multiplayer mode that hasn't really been seen since Power Stone and it is not ambitious enough and doesn't set itself apart??

GOWA looks as good as the best looking console games, but that is all, for a 2013 game to look as good as games in 2008-9, it should get a lower score. And gameplay wise it's not better either, I agree with a lot of the reviews that sometimes the camera pull so far back I can't see where I am on the screen.

Of course though...now that Ascension has come out with mostly average - good scores...they are wrong.

Not a fan of playstation? Not a fan of fanboys. Notice all of my comments are logical or talking down fanboys. Not once have I ever dissed Sony or the Playstation as they are my favorite in the industry and have been since the Ps1. I simply don't like Bser's. People who act as if Ps4 is more powerful than it is or that we can't possibly know how powerful the system is when the specs are given already. Not once do I talk down these specs either. I say it how it is. But if you don't praise the system beyond it's capabilities - Downvoted. I also don't like the way God of War and Uncharted are praised so much, simply because I don't like the whole Cinematic approach to gaming. Ps3 has so much more innovative and better exclusives that the God of war series and Uncharted series. But since God of War and Uncharted get so much praise, sales and attention...games like Valkyria chronicles get thrown onto the Psp.

Why must it be that you either completely agree with a review website (with multiple reviewers usually)or completely disagree with the site or else you're a fanboy. Its quite simple, every review site either gets it wrong sometimes or gets it right sometimes FOR EACH PERSON'S INDIVIDUAL TASTE. I agree with some reviews on...say, eurogamer, and disagree with others.

I don't know why this game is getting very low reviews when the technical, artistic, gameplay aspects of this game are spot on.

Well, I don't know what version of GoW: Ascencion you guys are playing, but I'm having a blast with it. And I know this is their first time to have online, but I had a great time playing it with a friend (co-op) and against 7 other players (competitive).

To each his own, but this score is too low.

Reviewers have been awfully harsh on a few games later in this gen cycle. It's like they only all just decided that we want new IP's, instead of sequels. Funny thing is, military shooters get away with it.
I am not saying this reviewer is right or wrong, but I think most people are disappointed in the double standards of reviewers. One moment they want new IP's, and the next they are telling us how innovative "Military shooter 69 " is.

Also, I hope that the Xbox fanboys laughing in God Of War reviews aren't forgetting that Gears Judgment comes out in less than a week. Karma is a bitch, so think before you spew crap.

This franchise has the best camera system in the whole genre, because you can actually see from where the hell the enemies are coming from. And not like in most other games in which you can only see what is in front of you, when there are 30 dudes behind you.

Not in this game you can't. The scale of world pushes the camera way too far back and as a result, you lose Kratos in the chaos, not to mention, you get your ass handed to you, because if you don't block/defend in this game, you're absolutely screwed.

This game is pure epicness and fun. The sp is your usual GOW formula and the mp is addictive as hell. The best part is that from day one servers were smooth and i didnt have issues which is rare this day in age. Just for the addition of a good mp i would have scored this game higher.

I don't know why people get up in arms over review scores. At the end of the day, it really only matters if YOU enjoy the game and feel that your money was well spent, right? Sure, we want everyone to feel and experiecnce the same thing that we connect to in a game, but everyone has different tastes.

And obviously this website is giving a harsh score of 6.5, but for the most part GoW:Ascension is getting 7.5's-8.5's across the board, which aren't bad review scores. But if fanboys don't see a 9 for their favorite franchise, they blame journalists and critics for being biased or some dumb sh*t like that.

people get riled up because there are so many people who see a few low reviews like this for a game and then choose not to buy it. this game is obviously not below average in the game play department. if it has improved GoW 3's game play then it can't be as bad as some of the reviewers are making it. Just because a person thinks they need to rest a franchise for a while, does not mean they should unfairly persecute a game. it should be judged on the game play. 65% is a D. This game does not deserve a near failing grade.

Well, there are those that are easily swayed away froma game because of false statements. Many peole these days are holding off on buying games because of the steep prices.

Anyway, I'm going back to playing this game. Its online really shows promise and can still be improved in the next GoW game!

sux that this game is getting these reviews cause judging by the demo its awesome but since its a ps3 exclusive its "just more of the same" and "nothing inovative" dam idiots its only the second gow game on ps3 but then the next black poops or modern bore fest comes and its nothing but 9's across the boards all i gotta say is F#CK reviewers
