Ryan McCaffrey from IGN is tired of the incompetence shown by LucasArts.
"I’ve had it with LucasArts. The publisher/developer’s latest head-scratching move, allegedly pumping the brakes on the promising third-person next-gen bounty-hunting action game Star Wars 1313, leaves me to wonder if – or rather, why – the once-proud subsidiary of Lucasfilm has now become a joke that gamers are the butt of."
In an era where pixels ruled the screen and creativity sparked the imagination, a few names stand out as trailblazers in the gaming industry – David Fox is undoubtedly among them. As a co-founder of LucasArts, Fox played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of gaming, leaving an indelible mark with iconic titles that continue to resonate with players worldwide. Join Sector as he shares captivating stories about the birth of LucasArts and the enthralling narratives behind some of the industry's most beloved classics.
eh…Gilbert, Purcell Schaffer were the trail blazers in that crew. David, while he did do some stuff once, like a real long ass time ago is more like b-list personality that specializes in reminiscing and signing ops at a convention.
Andersson will act as design director on the title and work in parallel with creative director Axel Torvenius – who was previously art director for the Wolfenstein games and with executive producer Jerk Gustafsson at the helm.
You know what games I want way more than Indiana Jones? The darkness and Riddick.
The Darkness was an underrated gem. Fantastic lore and Mike patton from Faith No More voicing the darkness is up there with the great video game voice overs imo.
While new chapters or remakes would be great; it is nice to see the classics get some love. Amazon’s Prime Gaming is amping up the nostalgia this summer by offering Amazon Prime members a selection of free classic LucasArts games for PC.
Secret of Monkey Island is a classic, I highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't played it.
At the beginning of this gen I envisioned a PSN and XBL version of X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. Please make it happen on PS4 and 720, you bastards! I have no interest in Star Wars 1313, or any other Star Wars game that's released since X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. That includes Jedi Starfighter. Bleh.
It's the fact that their management keeps changing and each time they switch priorities, leading to stuff being shelved and zero morale
LucasArt could have owned the space combat sim genre if they wanted to. The genre has manage to still advance on laughable budgets. i-novea was developed by a handful of people, and its the holy grail of the space genre.
Now look at the space expansion to SW galaxies. It was amazing, and really the only successor to X-Wing/TIE Fighter franchise.
Imagine actually flying an X-wing to the surface of Tatooine, in real time with actual size (or close to it).
This isn't cutting edge tech and LucasArts has the budget. They just never had the talent for it.
For years I have waited for them to pull their heads out of their collective asses. At this point Disney can't be any worse. Even if they went and slapped Star Wars on a bunch crap games, it would just be business as usual for LA.
lucasarts? more like disneyarts lol
Who knows what's going on at Lucasarts, only one thing's for sure, they are not the company they used to be.
