Well, it is a simple-minded frat house joke, but I don't think Sessler was right in thinking that that one joke can or should reduce the entire experience down to the same level rather than what it originally aspired to be.

Worse yet, the trophy doesn't even APPEAR till the guy rescues Kratos. Clearly, the trophy is talking about the guy rescuing Kratos from his mother and not murdering a damn mythological creature, that by the way, was trying to kill him.

It would make sense to be a little iffy if the trophy popped up AFTER you murdered the Fury, but it doesn't. Normally, when you kill a creature, if there's a trophy for it, it pops up AFTER killing the creature.... not after the damn 2-3 minute cutscene.

These people are giving me a headache. The misuse of the word misogynistic is flagrant and terrible. The idea that the name is "childish" and "tacky" stems from the incorrect assumption that the trophy is misogynistic and you can see a clear example of an erroneous cycle develop. People say they want it removed because it's misogynistic (it isn't), they say they want it removed, not because it's misogynistic, because it's childish and tacky, which they wouldn't have thought if certain people didn't bring it up calling it misogynistic. The fact that one of the female producers thought up the name, and the fact that the name happens AFTER A CUTSCENE AFTER THE FIGHT, indicating the trophy is for the scene and NOT the fight, doesn't matter to these people.

This entire situation has been riled up by white knights looking for an opportunity to appear "sensitive" to feminist issues and it's really hilarious that the majority of women have been very silent on this. Probably because they're playing Ascension, screaming at the screen during this fight and calling the Fury an "ugly b*tch" and wanting her to die.

Here's a link to the 'controversial trophy'. You get the trophy by progressing to the part where a male character saves you from the furies. Once he teleports you to safety, you get the trophy.

You know what the hilarious thing about this is? That men are the ones blowing this out of proportion. I don't know...they must not have a lot of experience with women and/ or have no idea of what gender equality is.

My friends and I use the 'Bros before Hoes' term jokingly and in the presence of women from time to time. Women whom we love or totally respect. The women know we're not at all serious. I love how in the new Tomb Raider there are 2 trophies called "Widowmaker" (for killing x enemies) and "Get down Boy" (for killing an enemy in a zipline) and somehow it isnt 'misogynistic' (I think most people that are using this word dont even know what it truly means).

The Trophy name is meaningless, most trophy names nowadays are comical and fun. And I dont really care about the TR ones, its just an example. Tbh I agree that sometimes is annoying that a trophy pops up during the climax of a cutscene (Uncharted games are a good example), but they're turning this into a gender war, and a stupid one.

I think GOW is way overrated. Don't get me wrong, it has it's moments, but the gameplay has been primarily the same since the first installment. I hate when something that could be so much better stays virtually the same although the technology has become MUCH better. They should be working on more cinematic camera placement and movement. The moves should flow together like movement does in Uncharted. The quick time events are a cool gameplay aspect... FOR TWO GENERATIONS AGO! Give me something different. I want to FEEL like I'm actually battling these creatures. I want more control than a scripted quick-time event! When I read this article title, that's what I was thinking. This gripe stood with Halo as well, until Halo 4 was released. Sad that they didn't get a sprint button until the 6th EFFING INSTALLMENT! (in Reach it was a power-up)

Shut up you imbecile. God of War is not over-rated at all, it's one of the best video game series of all time. Why do you think God of War's largest Facebook fan-page has more likes than the largest pages for Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Killzone, Infamous, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank and Resistance COMBINED? Yes all of those combined, you are in the insignificant minority.

1. Play God of War 1 then God of War: Ascension then tell me the gameplay hasn't evolved MASSIVELY.

2. No game has a more cinematic camera which is primarily due to the automatic camera which allows the developers to control what you see like a movie.

3. Moves should flow together like Uncharted? What the fucking hell are you on? God of War III & God of War: Ascension have some of the best animations in video games ever.

4. You get to FEEL like you're actually battling the creatures when you DO battle them, you only HAVE to use QTEs to FINISH boss fights you twit. If you knew anything about God of War: Ascension you'd also know they now have promptless mini-games to replace some QTEs.

Has the fact that you run around and slice people with the Chains of Olympus changed? NO. It's Dry and played out man. You are a fanboy who is now butthurt because someone doesn't like GOW. FAR more tech went into Uncharted's animation than has EVER gone into GOW. Why am I still slicing hands a feet of huge beasts that could easily annihilate me? It's the same fapping thing! Look at Uncharted and how Drake EASES into a walk animation, or how he STARTS to run by first changing his center of gravity with his head. Subtle movements and reactions to his environment that change the way he runs, stands, etc. From a REAL technical standpoint Uncharted is LEAPS AND BOUNDS ahead of GOW. I know because I actually study what goes into making one of these games! I've played every GOW game and it's still underwhelming to me. Sorry. And as far as camera placement goes I mean something more dynamic than that. Something more up-close and person. It feels like I can't even ENJOY the model of Kratos that the devs have worked so hard to get down to the detail with! It feels corridorish as it always has and although the mix up the way you transition into each corridor. It's still been there since GOW 1!
