Why I'm obsessed with... 1080 Avalanche

CVG - 1080 Avalanche was a game forever in the shadow of SSX3, EA's rival snow-racer that; with its massive mountain ripe for free-roam, electric tricks and eclectic soundtrack, SSX seemed almost objectively better. Except it wasn't. Swapping festival atmosphere and moon physics for something altogether more grounded and gritty, Avalanche deserves a spot in the sun.

Avalanche is one of the best racing games ever made. People might laugh - but it's so solid. So wonderfully crafted. So robust. Shame it was overlooked so much.

You are correct. This game here is not just one of the best racing games, but is one of the best games ever made, making the N64 one of the strongest gaming machines in the history of gaming.
I may sound like a Nintendo fangirl when i say this, but its just a fact that Nintendo HAS ALWAYS HAD THE BEST GAMES WITH THE HIGHEST REPLAY VALUE EVER, REGARDLESS OF SALES.
Not Sony, or Microsoft can beat Nintendo, because to do so, they would need to find a flex capacitor to go back in time to stop nintendo from being the FIRST ones to had ALREADY done it, to have had EXCLUSIVE RITES to some of the MOST EXCEPTIONAL GAMES TO EVER BE RELEASED ON A GAMING SYSTEM, the Nintendo 64.
Of course sony and microsoft have GREAT EXCLUSIVES, which is why i have a ps3, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO NINTENDO, it just does not make much sense to think Nintendo is even TRYING TO COMPETE.
1080 Avalanche, StarWars Episode 1 Racer, WaveRace64, Excitbike 64, BeetleCart Adventure Racing, MarioKart 64, .and DiddyKong Racing still remain to this day THE BEST RACING GAMES TO EVER HIT A CONSOLE, not to mention the F-zeros. FACT .
I Know i sound like a complete fanboy/fangirl, but im just sharing some facts, not opinions. Grand Turismo is really cool game, but does not cut it, not that its a bad series, but it does not have the same spark as the previously mentioned.
Okay, i am ready for downvotes, and angry sony fanboy attacks. Cometh!!

My favourite racing games of all time are actually 1080 and F-Zero GX (I actually prefer the Gamecube ones to the N64 ones - though many people disagree).

The third best racing game ever made is SanFancisco Rush 2049 on the Dreamcast.

I'm joking of course...
