Looking to maybe upgrade my GTX560ti SLI set-up but I haven't found the right deal just yet!

they are both overclocked and giving me more power than a single GTX680 so I'm in no hurry!

SoCalledMe4062d ago

Well you should wait and see if at the end the AMDs 8000 series isn't just a refresh( very unlikely ) or wait for Nvidia Kepler refresh , but I would personaly wait for Maxwell or its competitor from AMD .

AMD HD8000 isn't coming out till 2014

I rather get a GREAT deal on HD7000 or GTX600 series!

I always run SLI or CFX so I will have more power than a single GTX x80 or HD x970 card!

GTX 660 ti SLI or HD7950 CFX @ $550 is the price point I'm looking for!

plus selling my old cards will get me a $250 so I'm only spending $300

I'm on a single 580 and prefer the single card setup, so I'm eagerly awaiting the new line of Southern Islands GPUs and the Kepler refresh.

Although considering the pricing of the GTX Titan, I'm somewhat concerned about the way Nvidia and AMD have been handling replacements in their pricing models. As we know, the Titan was the original GTX 680 until they decided they could get away with replacing a flagship GPU with a Mid-High end part and charge the same money, which was also sparked by AMD charging over $500 for their flagship on release simply because it was faster than the closest Nvidia GPU (the 580). They can't keep upping the price each generation relative to the fastest of the previous refresh like this or PC gaming WILL become prohibitively expensive.

I agree. It's true, AMD and Nvidia are getting ridiculous.

Instead of lowering the price of their current crop of GPUs, they just come out with more expensive ones. The price/performance ratio is staying the same.

They need to lower the price of what they have now, and introduce the newer generations at the same price point, not a higher one.

AMD Stated they not making 8000 series instead they pushing more efforts into there drivers given the 7000 series AMD cards more performance boost.
I never had a gtx560ti sli. But I did have a gtx560. Sli. It gave me solid 60fps bf3 but I'm not sure it's level to a gtx680 lol?.
I'm running happy on my 7970 looking by another refrence design few months.

My current ITX setup is using an MSI 7950 frozr iii. I'm happy with what I'm getting and see no reason to upgrade at the moment.

What is going on with the 8 series from AMD? Im on a 6950 2GB which is more than capable but I just want an excuse to upgrade :/
