Hollywood voice Actor Yuri Lowenthal stars in some of the biggest video games of all time, including Halo 4, Naruto, Ben 10, Saints Row and the upcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us. He also brings super heroes to life in animated TV shows and films. Yuri details his experiences voicing characters that we all know and love and shares his perspective on the evolution of video games in this exclusive interview. He’s currently promoting a new short film project, Crystal Crypt, which he’ll star in alongside his wife Tara Platt (another famous video game voice actor). The film is based on a short story from Blade Runner and Total Recall author Phillip K. Dick. Check out the exclusive video interview below.
We spoke with Yuri Lowenthal, Nadji Jeter, and Tony Todd at Twin Cities Con 2023 shortly after the impressive release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PS5.
Both did a great job, it was nice hearing Yuri's darker performance. Reminded me of his work with Sasuke, which was for me the best voiced character in the English dub of Naruto.

Well... obviously he can't say anything bad lol. I do miss old Peter, he kinda had an Andrew Garfield look.
I know. He literally can't say anything bad so why say anything at all. How does this affect him?
People liked the original better and were excited to see it change or evolve throughout the games sequels and technological advancements. It's not a big deal who likes what? It's just a preference
We'll play the new one as we love the games but I don't think anyone should "get over it" if they preferred the original, the entire change was just dumb in the first place and they clearly wanted someone to look a little similar to the MCU version.
One of my issues with it is that he looks younger than Miles and he's supposed to be the older mentor who's been Spiderman for a good few years now. The old model had this worn down look to him which I really loved and didn't get with other Spiderman projects and that ending scene with Aunt May had way more emotion that the new model.
All that rage, new attitude and the like Peter has in the sequel with the black symbiote suit, I can't really see it working with the current face model.
He does look younger than Miles 😂😂😂 They definitely mess that up. They should have kept John Bubniak

Very drastic change and the reaction of the voice actor is incredibly dismissive and tone deaf considering the strike that is finally ending today.
Ben Jordan and original Peter aren't people to him, they're just replaceable faces meant to make HIS performance better.

hes a voice actor. why should he care, he's only the voice. im pretty sure he had no say in the change whatsoever. and watever helps him improve his own performance, he'll take it.
I say get over it as well, people still whining about it like its been years move on. For awhile now its been nothing but whining, fanboying and amongst other things like give it a rest.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, I prefer the new face !

The original face was a little off. He hit the uncanny valley zone in my brain. I get that this is personal preference, but yeah the new face looks more like a real person.
Peter Parker's VA in Marvel's Spider-Man Yuri Lowenthal wants to sustain his role as long as he is alive and allowed to.
cool I guess. To be honest his performance isn't why I am there . I am there for the gameplay and boss fights. Dope he loves doing it though
That too, but it's not like Yuri does not breathe life into Peter Parker. He's a fantastic VA!
shrug I really wish Christopher from 90s series would get a call for Spider man games or multiverse movies. Nothing Yuri does with spider man is that remarkable to me . It doesnt stick with me personally but yeah

yuri freakin lowenthal, the man that was the prince of persia,sir galeth,sasuke uchiha,and haseo, this is what i call a voice actor.
Its interesting to hear the opinion of these actors as well as putting a face to the voice you hear in certain shows. That what I always like to do from interviews like this

I still find it awesome that: He played the protagonist in Tales of the Abyss (Luke), and Namco named the protagonist of the next game, Tales of Vesperia after him (Yuri Lowel)
