Microsoft continues to dig their own grave

A current generation system that has been out the longest is the last to announce a new system. If you don't see a problem with that, well then something is wrong with you.

Oh noooo...teh Xbox 720 is doomed.

Quick buy some Sony shares because 2013 is the year of the PS4.

AngelicIceDiamond4061d ago

Lol the internet is once again making stuff up. The 720 is doomed even though it hasn't been announced yet and is going by rumors. And I knew the guy in the article would put "No Blue ray player in the 720" hes going by that completely bogus and false article that should of gotten taken down by N4g. http://n4g.com/news/1185766...

As far as the article goes the author is basically disgruntled that MS is still silent as these negative rumors continue to come into play.

People realy don't understand the waiting game apparently? MS will talk when ready.

xPhearR3dx4062d ago

"A current generation system that has been out the longest is the last to announce a new system."

And releasing last and announcing first is any better? All this does is two things. Makes Sony look like the PS3 is irrelevant and not going to make it a couple more years. Makes MS look like they have no desire to move on to Next-gen because they think the 360 is doing so well.

Sony entered first and announced last, last-gen and they were just fine. Had a horrible start, but the ended good.

Hicken4062d ago

First off: what do Sony's actions have to do with this? If anything, Sony's continued dedication to the PS3 rather disproves your theory of "a couple more years." They've frequently made it clear that they'd support the system for ten years. That means, roughly, from 2006 until 2016. That's at least three more years from November. That's a LOT of support for your console from last generation; so far, we've really only seen Sony give that kind of support.

Second: what Sony's move says is that they're looking forward. But even while they do that, all the rest of their moves say they're not gonna forget about their current products or customers. I mean, what does it say about Nintendo that they released even earlier than Sony?

Oh, that's right: nothing by itself. Like anything else, there's plenty of other context needed to see what "it" says.

See, Microsoft's other moves contribute to this feeling of "digging their own grave," not just this ONE thing. After all, it DOES say "continues," does it not?

How about looking at everything next time, instead of just what you want to see?

@ Hicken

Take your own advice, considering we know absolutely NOTHING about the next xbox that has been confirmed. I swear, the biggest Sony diehards have been on top guard since the PS4 reveal. Why not wait untill MS shows off what they have before we begin another console war.

Outside_ofthe_Box4062d ago

The announcement is coming in a couple of months relax.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4062d ago

OMgs!

Everyz console iz teh DOOMEDED!

They are dying one by one- even before they are released!

I think it is the Ghost of Dreamcast! =-O

Godmars2904062d ago

Except if some or all of this pans out, MS will be the only one to douse itself in gasoline and light a match before jumping off the skyscraper and into the shark tank.

Can't believe that they're touting themselves as media-strong yet wont have box which plays BR or even DVDs.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4062d ago (Edited 4062d ago )

I think Microsoft is planning on making a "very" cheap but powerful console and they are trimming all of the fat.

(Probably taking leads from Wii's success despite not being able to play physical movie medias-)

I bet 720 will be more digital focused - look for Cloud Storage of movies and better ways to stream from mobile to the console.

+ Blue-ray is bad (good but bad)
- It would make the console units more expensive.
- They would have to pay Sony to use it.

Me guessing/dreaming, BUT we will know in APRIL (Whoot! Whoot!)

PS "Interesting" @ Gmars290

Bumpmapping4062d ago

They already started digging this generation with Kinect, pay 2 play service, lack of new ip's.M$ is in for a rude awakening next generation if rumors are to be true they might as well Jump Out.

T24062d ago

Kinect is literally shit I dont even know why they bother.. I dont know one 360 owner with kinect

JeffGUNZ4061d ago

Selling over 20 million unites to date, which means 1 out of 3 people who own an Xbox has one. That's why they bother, it's successful. Sure, we may not like it since we prefer more "hardcore" based games, but doesn't mean millions of others don't enjoy Kinect.

Also, now you know one, I own a Kinect. Granted, I only use it when my nephew and nieces come over or my wife want's to do her work out crap. It's not really my cup of tea, but I realize I am not the only person in the world.

Used to love this one, but X-Men Legends 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, especially Rise of Apocalypse. Would pay some good money to play it today with online multiplayer, back then I had no way to get a modem

RavenWolfx2h ago

Yeah, I loved the Legends games so much.

ZeekQuattro10h ago

I remember buying them dirt cheap on the PS4 and then a few days later I read they were delisted. I was wondering why the bundle was price so low and got my answer when that happened.

Knightofelemia8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Sad to say this is one game franchise next to the Xmen that needs a sequel. I use to play the hell out of Xmen Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Was great when my cousin had the OG Xbox play with four other people and then playing online. Great games glad to see it reappear even though I own the discs love the mechanics of this game.

Terry_B8h ago

It got a sequel..but for dumbass #reasons as a switch exclusive.

shinoff21838h ago

It looked so horrible to. They should've kept it similar to the first two.

Asplundh7h ago

Because Nintendo funded it, they did the same for Bayonetta.

Knightofelemia7h ago

I totally forgot about the Switch sequel.

jukins7h ago

Misleading. This page is whats available for people who owned the game prior to delisting.

Abnor_Mal7h ago

The first game was the best imo.

There's a reason they're called 'gods' and not 'regular people'. It's nice they've diversified even more but gods looking godly wasn't exactly a glaring issue with the first game.

Juancho5111h ago

Hey! Gods suffer from obesity and diabetes too!

Blastoise11h ago

This is the dumbest article I've read in a long time.

Michiel198910h ago

No one had an issue with that besides a very select group of people that try to push their own agenda.

Crows9010h ago

Exactly. Not even sure they're necessarily committing to body diversity either.

The designs look fine not stupid.

gerbintosh2h ago

Who haven't even played the game either

Inverno9h ago

The writer of the this article clearly doesn't know what a real god looks like and has never seen them /s

Tody_ZA9h ago

Thanks for bringing up a bunch of garbage thoughts that never crossed my mind when playing the first game because I was too busy playing the game to worry about the portrayal of the physical bodies of gods.

Foolish me, when I read the title I thought we were talking about game mechanics.

Piss off, honestly, with this asinine bottom of the barrel try-hard-to-be-relevant trash.
