Need for Speed: Most Wanted Wii U will be a $60 game

They're selling an older game for 60 bucks, while many of the target audience already have access to a 360, ps3 and/or PC. They should have just released the WiiU version at 40 bucks max.

Truthfully it could be their way of quietly stopping support on the WII U! What better way than to shift the blame on the fanbase for not buying the game.

It has already been reported that development cost are not high on the console, so their not spending alot to have the game on the system, plus lookingat some of the targeted audience, it's going to sell to those who must have a trophy to hang over the heads of this gen console owner.

So it's actually a win/win for developers.

Get a grip its pure NEXTGEN NFS and they confirmed wiiu will get every NFS game same day as ps4 ect so they obviously love WiiU,remember this version also has Miiverse built in i can't wait.

For me Sony fans are the yougest and most immature,true nintendo fans are mature because were all 30 years old plus,obviously there are also new fans but old ones are well over 30.

I'm fine with it. They put a lot of work in optimizing the game for the Wii U, and I don't own any other versions. If this was just a quick and dirty port I wouldn't pay full price.

Lol I watched the developement video for the Wii U version, or at least read it. The guy basically said they clicked on the PC textures and blammo! It worked. Obviously they still have to do some work to bring it on there, but not for $60. EA.......

Working with brand new dev kits I doubt it was "blammo." In fact the devs stated that they couldn't get the game out at launch because they were unfamiliar with the architecture. And of course the PC textures aren't the only good thing about this version. I'm sure that full gamepad integration, full Miiverse integration, father son mode, off TV play, and support for every control option imaginable was just easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Maybe EA should just give the game away as a free download?

The plan is to pay $60 for the version of the game I can't play on other consoles. Otherwise I'd just get the bare bones PC or PS3 version seeing as I like owning multiple consoles.

Nintendo got through the N64 and GC era with little 3rd party support. They turned quite a bit of profit as well. Even if they did receive no third party support(which really is not the case now), they would be no where near close to going under.

This is more bad for the 3rd parties than Nintendo. The Wii U is going to start picking up in sales starting this month because the good game will start arriving on the 18th and beyond. All Nintendo needs to do is advertise the console better and they will coasting from here on out.

This was a stupid decision by EA because there is no way this game can compete with Monster Hunter 3G Ultimate at the same price. I may be pick it up when the price drops, but not for $60.

They would have died in the N64 GC era if it wasnt for the huge success of the GBC and DS. Those consoles didn't make them a massive profit and although it wasn't a dreamcast type failure they were getting there.

@Gamer1982 dude, be serious. The N64 turned a pretty healthy profit for Nintendo. And the Gamecube, despite being in "third place", sold around 21 million units at pure profit since almost day one, whereas Microsoft sold around 24 million original Xboxes at a loss.

Yup, the N64 and Gamecube were Nintendo's least successful consoles, but they weren't in any danger to getting even close to Sega's situation when they launched the Dreamcast. It's not an apples to oranges comparison, it's apples to walruses.

Nintendo has only had ONE console flop in their whole history, and that was the Virtual Boy, and they did just fine even after that.

As much as I'd prefer ALL games to be cheaper, if that's the price of entry for the Wii U version, so be it - nobody is forcing me to buy it and I can wait for a discounted version if I want.

All-in-all, I'm fine with this price point. Yes it's late, no doubt - But then again, unlike the half~baked ports the system got at launch - Criterion actually took some time out to optimize the game for the Wii U. They:

- Added the first DLC "Ultimate Speed Pack" and new modes

- Improved the visuals (Uses PC textures and assets, more high-quality look, more detailed roads, improved lighting, draw-distance tweaked)

- Added full Miiverse integration along with Autolog

- Added the "Co-Driver" mode.

That's some serious effort for a rather late game. I don't own it on any of the other systems, which includes the PC. I spent some time with the XBOX 360 version while I was at a friend's house. Other than that, I haven't touched the game.

But considering the fact they went ahead and improved it, and really made it use the Wii U's features - they should be commended and supported. It's not like EA is holding a gun to your head to re-purchase the game if you already have it on the other systems. But considering this is the first full racing experience in the Wii U's library, a $60 price-point isn't all that bad. This should be fine for newcomers to the game, as in, those who don't have any other version already. But if they have another system, they could just purchase the cheaper version. No biggy.

It shouldn't be a full priced game. Yeah they added some features, but it only took them about 6 months to complete. It should be $40. When this game doesn't sell, don't blame Wii U owners, blame the greedy ass bastards at EA.

I have not played the game, and so to me it is new. Just like The RE port coming to PS360/Wii U. I have not played that one, and so to me it is a new game. Also I want the upgraded graphics and the gamepad options over other console ports. I am guessing what will happen, just like other ports. It will release at full price and after a few months it will drop in price. It is no big deal guys (and girls).

Thing is not everyone is as fortunate as you are in this economy and not everyone is a cheap skate when they don't want to spend full price on an admittedly older title.

To play devil's advocate, I don't see why people would complain about this; if you don't want to buy it full price then just wait for a discounted version or don't get it at all I suppose.

I bet this will flop like AC3 and Black Ops on the Wii U.. I don't have a problem with it getting the same games I just have a problem with them releasing them late on the Wii U when people probably already bought it for $60 at release on the PC, PS3 or 360 a long time ago.

I personally see no logic in that or how they think it will be a worth while venture. Good luck to them though hopefully it wasn't a waste on their behalf like the others turned out.
