Scott from The Controller Online writes: "Series “reboots” are all the rage these days, in games and in film, and often they feel quite unnecessary. One such re-imagining I have been excited to see, however, is Tomb Raider. This is one series that was begging for more realistic characters, not to mention a more intense story, which is what excited me so much the first time I saw this new entry in the series. Whether you’re a long time fan, or you’ve been drawn in by Tomb Raider’s new look, one thing is for sure; you’ll love the new Lara."
Tomb Raider I, II, III Remastered is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Lara Croft is back in a classic remaster of the original PlayStation 1 hit title. Is the remaster any good though?
We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.
For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.
I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.
Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
Like the film or television industry, the world of gaming has seen its fair share of reboots over the years. While some of these video game reboots have had
This game definitely deserves the high praise so far in my play through. Very impressed by the single player so far. This reboot seems to be going in all the right directions for me. About the only thing I would like to see would be a bit more complex puzzle solving as so far its pretty rudimentary.
TR has surpassed uncharted in every way, from the amazing visuals to the exploration of the semi open world. Best game in 2013.
So glad that the reboot worked!!!! I really like this franchise...
Absolutely an Amazing game. The visuals are top notch and as I said in a previous post, IMO they out do the stunning visuals in the Uncharted series which to me seem very over saturated. The attention to detail is beyond words. And the voice acting as well as the musical score are fantastic and spot on. Lara's new look is gorgeous. Gameplay wise, every control feels tight and not overy complicated. I also love the fact that it is not an open world game per say but feels like it just by the way that it is put together. There is still puzzles to solve, tombs to explore and a bit of gunplay but are pretty evenly distributed. Just a great game all around. This one is a big GOTY contender or should at least be in everyones top 5.
I like how the doors pop
