We just learned from a leaked memo that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will "feature" online connectivity even when playing single player as to "benefit" from a "huge community presence." Ubisoft just joined EA (Crytek soon will join). The reason for all this? Here is a clue; its not to "benefit" anything. It comes down to 1 word and billions of dollars.
Behind XDefiant's toxic work culture, crunch, delays, and a group of directors and managers internally referred to as 'The Boys Club'.
Man the industry just keeps on going with all this bs and to think this is ubisoft again remember what happened with that skull bones team same crap.

This game will be tossed out broken unplolished with a bloated budget trying to be cod but will fail sense ubi can get there shit in order. If i was me i would have gotten rid of this boys club asap there is alot looking for work out there.
Every industry has these issues
Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
Today Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson provided a look into his ideas for the use of generative AI in the company's development processes.
EA is still a shady shitty company even with or without the help of Skynet. All they will use AI for is new ways to milk loot boxes and come up with the same sports title with a different year on the label. They are one company I truly do hate with a passion. They single handedly ruined some great franchise with their death touch. ME, Dead Space, Alice Returns, Dante's Inferno.
EA layoffs followed by 'Generative AI to Drive Monetization'
I knew it. Wonder what AI salary looks like? Nothing.
And take away creativity, and people's jobs as we've been seeing. Got it.
No thanks. I want my games created by people, not AI.
EA doesn't want to lose their title of worst gaming company ever, always trying their best to remain the champs!
What's sad is that they have so much potential to be a decent publisher.
SSX Tricky / SSX 3
Def Jam Vendetta / Fight for New York
NBA Street
NFL Steet
Mirror's Edge
Bad Company
Burnout 3 / 4 / 5
Remember when EA used to be awesome? It's all over with now. Unpolished, if not out-right broken games these days. Endless monetization and gambling in their sports games, and let's not forget wasting hours of your life trying to unlock characters or equipment using "surprise boxes!"
BY JASON MONROE: The very best pirate-themed video games that you should play instead of the disappointment that is Skull and Bones.
PoE: Deadfire, Unless you have a or PS5 or an SSD don't bother, loading times are insane. A minute and a half to go into a room to investigate a desk in an inn and then an additional 1 1/2 minutes to leave the room and then load to leave the inn???
And they never fixed it.
It's our own fault, we as consumers have shunned single player only games. Its gotten to the point where games like Tomb Raider, Mass Effect and lord help us even God Of War are stricken with lame multiplayer game modes that people will abandon within two months.
Sadly, we are headed towards a DRM style of always online, which is probably why Destiny the new Bungie game requires an interenet connection to play any part of it.
This is not genuine game buyers fault. It's the fault of Piracy and The notion by developers that 2nd-hand games hurt the industry (which is entirely wrong). A misconception by developers is the reason for the Elimination of the SP.
The games with the biggest sales this gen are still games that have a big SP campaign and a good MP. MP only will fail. Games with an SP will be definitely needed nextgen.
Single player is still the best way to game in my opinion. You can get lost in that game's world when nobody else is around to distract you and those are the games I have my greatest memories of/with.
The Developer that releases a GREAT single player game next gen will be ahead of the game by a lot.
