PlayStation Plus March Update: Spec Ops: The Line Free for Members

With Spring on the horizon, we figured it might be time to test a new format of delivering your PS Plus updates. This month, we’re providing an outlook of the major stuff hitting the Instant Game Collection in March with this update, but you’ll still want to check the weekly posts to see the discounts and any other freebies available to you as a PS Plus member.
To kick things off, the following games, displayed in no particular order, will be added to the Instant Game Collection throughout March!

Nice update. I will enjoy Spec Ops: The line. And damn The Cave came into the IGC fairly quickly. How well did it sell on the PS3?

This is a great time to pick up Sumioni: Demon Arts, I wanted that game to go on sale for a while now. Happy to see it for $7 dollars. Sony needs to release a bigger memory card size for the Vita and/or drop the price of the 32GB card, I need another one. I'm running out of space.

Hey guys, America is getting EVEN MORE stuff than what is found in this article! On another page also found in Sony's official PS blog, it says were also getting these ADDITIONAL games for free to celebrate the Vita's 1 year anniversary:

Wild Arms (PS one Classic)
Patapon (PSP)
Piyotama (PSP)
Patchwork Heroes (PSP)

(So, that's a total of SIX Vita-compatable games this month (when combining Disgaea 3 and Tekken 6) AND THREE PS3 games).

That's a CRAZY total of 9 games!!!!! Finally they heard us when we were upset about the stuff EU was getting vs the crap we were getting.

Those 4 games are not part of the IGC. So, I don't think you need a plus subscription to get those games.

Which is a good thing for those that don't have plus, but want some free games. And for those that don't want to renew their subscription, they still have access to those games.

I think Wild Arms is a PS1 classic that can be played on the PSP, Vita and PS3. I hope it can can played on the PS3 anyway.

XBL Gold doesn't give you the game Spec Ops: The Line even if you pay the fee. You still need to buy the freaking game!

That's right you do have to pay for PS+, so I guess I just bought Spec Ops for about $1, seeing how we get to download on average 4 games per month.

Still a good deal to me.

Oh and actually I still had the game in the plastic, so I took it back to Wal-Mart and got me a $30 Gift Card that can go towards another year of PS+. Now that's GOLD worthy to me.

I know! I've got a 16 gb and a 32 gb, and they are both full, and a lot of it is ps+ stuff, and a lot of free games... When will they sell 64 gb cards? Actually, make it 128 gb and I'll get it, even for $250...(although it would probably be more expensive than that...)

Quite please with this. I loved spec ops when i played it before so anyone that hasn't really should the story is amazing even if the gameplay is a little off par at times. I really wanted disagia 3 and the cave which is awesome now I don't need to buy it. Maybe I need to upgrade to a 32 gig card.

Problem with this was Spec Ops: The Line was an alright game with only it's story to truly drive it. It was for that reason I didn't get it. However, getting it for free is nice but in the month of March? I got Bioshock Infinite, God of War Ascension, and possibly that new Walking Dead game. Got no time for this at all!

Finally Spec Ops get some justic. People who never played it, just GIVE IT A CHANCE. The first 2 missions starts off slow, but after that... just be prepared for a roller-coaster ride of mind clusterfucks.

You WILL question yourself at the end of the game.

decent update, just funny with the exception of Disgaea, no one got it right with their prediction of what would be free after the games being teased.

I got all right except Tekken. I figured it would be DoA5 like EU got. The Cave was too obvious, as was Disgaea 3. Having played Spec Ops I knew it was going to be that game, it was very different and really challenged what to expect from a shooter. I'm really pleased with this update. Lots of great games, and I love the new monthly format.

Definitely an amazing game to add to the instant game collection. For me, the 3 best games in 2012 were P4:G, TWD, and Spec Ops, Spec Ops was a welcome breath of fresh air from the recent glut of modern military shooters.

Pretty good update....I still think EU wipes the floor with it but Spec Ops looks awesome (though I have it on PC...nothing against Sony for that though).

I'm looking forward to Joe Danger 2 and know nothing about the Cave.

it's a shame we can't play PSP games on the PS3 (I get why...same for vita) as it takes away two pieces of content.

Overall, it's a pretty good update and much better than recent updates.

PS Plus is worth every penny.

I like the business model.

I only keep certain top tier games like (GOW III, Uncharted series, fighting games, open world games, rpgs, etc)...the rest I trade in anyway.

So the PS Plus business model is right up my alley.

I can't wait till the Sony Gaikai business model gives me access to all games.
