If next gen assassins creed looks good as that trailer does in "Real Time" then that be awesome but i bet it won't. I think showing CG in video games is wrong, immoral and should be banned.

At the very least they should show some gameplay, it always strikes me as odd when a trailer is nothing but CGI, that isn't what I'll be getting if I buy the game so why waste my time? show me the actual game and if it's any good I'll buy it.

(SAE)

That's fine, but trailers designed to sell a game should show gameplay, I don't condone using hype to sell a product when what's being shown has little resemblance and not much to do with the actual game.

SAE4063d ago (Edited 4063d ago )

The CGI video is an intro to the game. Revelation had one too and it looked bad ass. It just for hyping people.

Im still gonna buy it. I like AC story's. I just think the gameplay can be much better but they don't want to improve it and make it special because if they did that a lots of people won't buy. Most people want easy games..

Ju4063d ago

I am still blown away - even if this is a CGI trailer. This can actually hold up against big budget Hollywood productions. I am quite impressed how far CGI came. And, none the less, some artist had to create all those character models and set pieces which might as well be used scaled down in the game. Looking forward to it - probably gonna get it for the eye candy. I have yet to finish another AC game. I usually get bored half way through and the only one I finished was the first one; even though I bought all but one.

papashango4063d ago

"I am still blown away - even if this is a CGI trailer. "

Stop...just effing stop. getting excited over a cgi trailer, lol

no wonder microtransactions aren't going away any time soon.

Ju4063d ago

^^ Yeah, because you have actually no idea what I was talking about, eh? Well, nothing new so far...

CYBERSNAKE4063d ago

The difference will be minimal, like Spiderman 3 for the PS2 and PS3. As for the CGI trailer, Ubisoft always release a CGI trailer first for all their AC games.

LarVanian4063d ago (Edited 4063d ago )

Spiderman 3 on PS3 was pretty much a completely different game from the PS2 version and the graphics were significantly better.
A better comparison would probably be King Kong on Xbox and Xbox 360.

gintoki7774063d ago

Depends Final fantasy always has some cool CG cut scenes and good graphics. When Assassin's creed uses it makes me think "Just make a movie or something".

Kurt Russell4063d ago

The actual game has its cut scenes made in real time though. Ubi always show their game off pre-rendered in the early days to build hype.

I imagine there isn't much built into the actual game yet to raise the required interest of punters at this point, when there is they usually release a trailer showing in game footage (mostly combat and free running).

Either way, there has been too much Assasins Creed now for me to give a poop.

gintoki7774063d ago

Assassins creed's engine should take the next gen leap. Same thing for years but at least they have been honest about it.

Eyesoftheraven4063d ago (Edited 4063d ago )

For teaser trailers, I can forgive the use of pre-renders CGI. For everything else, especially in this day and age, where real time graphics often look incredible, I can't stand it. Like the intro and outro videos in Crysis 3.. they're pre-rendered and look worse than the actual game! Take into account the often terrible video compression artifacts and it's unforgivable.

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4063d ago (Edited 4063d ago )

"There also some PS4 controller specific features that they will be revealing later."

lol poor wiiU.

"“I mean, that Next Gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community.”

Online drm?

Game is milked? yup.

Is the only consistent assassin game? yup.

Are there any clones? no..

Is it still original compared to other games? yes..

One of a kind game? yes..

Will I buy on ps4 when it's $40? yes..

_LarZen_4063d ago

It will not look remotely close to the CGI trailer, that I can already tell you now.

“In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain “Single Player” it will be better to be a “Single Connected Player”.

“...PS4 controller specific features”

So we are looking at an enchanced port for next gen

Truehellfire4063d ago

Yeah, pretty much. Much like the PC is right now, these next-gen consoles will be limited by the current gen if a game releases on both of them. Sure, graphics and physics will be better, but that is it. If it was next gen only, the amount of RAM the new consoles have would allow for so much more. Huge environments with so much detail that it would be hard to imagine. Due to the fact the developers are making it for current consoles though, they are only going to put as much as they can fit into those and slightly upgrade it for next gen.

Rask4063d ago

Ubisoft is milking Assassin's Creed for good eh, it's almost like Call of Duty already.

Ju4063d ago

They do. But unlike Activision, they actually re-invested the money to improve the tech. Each iteration of the game look mighty impressive compared to the previous version. Gameplay - well, that didn't change that much.

delboy4063d ago

And that's the problem, i got bored after acII.
Could't care less about next ac game.

MestreRothN4G4063d ago

Actually, each game is worst/casualler/dumber than the previous.

Just as CoD after 6.

Omni-Tool4062d ago

What destroyed all of these game series is the yearly releases. Over saturation of the exact same crap every year with no originality to branch out into other IP opportunities. I remember when it was 3 to 5 yrs before a sequel was released. Now, they're getting worse than sports games. Seriously, developers should just quit with coming up with names and just attach a year at the end of each one.

SAE4063d ago

It's obvious that it will be like an hd quality(ps4) instead of normal tvs(ps3) but nothing better in the gameplay that shows the power of the console. It won't be different in content like if battlefield 4 released in current and next generations it will be different. The multiplayer will have bigger maps, more players, better performance..etc

ps3_pwns4063d ago

if the games are the same price then the difference will be minimal. meaning all versions 59.99

PoE: Deadfire, Unless you have a or PS5 or an SSD don't bother, loading times are insane. A minute and a half to go into a room to investigate a desk in an inn and then an additional 1 1/2 minutes to leave the room and then load to leave the inn???

And they never fixed it.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag vs Skull and Bones Video Comparison Is an Eye-Opener

Ubisoft has just released Skull and Bones on PC and consoles. And, from the looks of it, the game wasn’t received well by some gamers. Not only that but it appears that Skull and Bones can be worse than Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, a game that came out a decade ago.

I wanted a Black Flag sequel so bad. It's still my favorite AC entry. The fact that they ignored everything that we loved about that game in this "spiritual successor" is making me enjoy watching this game crash and burn quite a bit. Either do it right or don't do it at all. (I understand the legal binding they got themselves into with the Singapore government to release this game at all costs)

/grabs popcorn

isarai61d ago

My thing is, if the Singapore govt was forcing you to do it at all cost, why not make what people wanted? How did ubi delay it for 5yrs, then again for 1yr and not just make a similar experience to black flag? How do you spend so much time and make so little?

Chocoburger60d ago

Ubisoft did make a sequel, Assassin's Creed: Rogue. It has a short campaign, and its packed with filler side quests for upgrades, but it's still a decent time.

It released on the same day as Assassin's Creed: Unity, so it was mostly forgotten.

porkChop60d ago

11 years of development. Multiple restarts. All the while people have been saying they don't want some pirate game where you can't even get off your ship. 11 years of people telling Ubisoft all they want is a pirate game that's basically Black Flag without any of the assassin or animus stuff. Yet they still served up this trash that no one wanted, charged $70 for it, and had the balls to call it AAAA.

The Guillemot family honestly needs to be forced out of Ubisoft. They've doubled down on everything players don't like about their games, they want AI to create "rough drafts" of their stories rather than letting their writers do their jobs, and they literally do not give a shit what their playerbase actually wants. 5-6 years ago their stock was worth more than 4x what it's currently worth. The company is dying.

Jin_Sakai60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

What has happened to developers? How can you possible make a worse looking game 11 years later? It’s honestly mind boggling.

darksky60d ago

It's because the older developers were better at it. The new generation pass most of their exams by copying code from around the web so are not nearly as good at understanding what they are developing.

LucasRuinedChildhood60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

No, here's the truth:
https://www.channelnewsasia...
This was made in Singapore and it's the first game of this scale to be made there. Ubisoft would probably cancel it normally since it clearly wasn't shaping up well but they were getting government grants to try build up the industry there.

Do you really think game developers are radically different than just 10 years ago? And this game has been development since Black Flag released.

Using one crap game to trash a whole industry of developers is stupid. It's like saying "Alien Colonial Marines proves that game developers suck now."

yeahokwhatever60d ago

i know this to be at least part of the puzzle from experience.

senorfartcushion59d ago

It's the multiplayer aspect of the world. MP games look worse than single player games, period. Every comparison we keep seeing are for games like Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad and Skull and Bones. They all have multiplayer focusses.

SyntheticForm60d ago

God, I'd love a remake of Black Flag.

Yi-Long60d ago

Enough has been said about this game already. The gaming world shrugged when it was announced so many years ago, and instead of listening to all the criticisms from the community back then, Ubi just sailed on and kept making a game nobody really wanted. What a waste of money and effort.
