3DS and ps3 quite close. No major downs for the ps3, 360 and 3ds. Shame about the 8% wii u slump but I havnt seen any advert per here in the uk or any major announcements yet.

The Wii U is not six years old; it just came out. How could you have possibly mistaken my comment in that context?

The 360 and PS3 are both over half a decade old and their software libraries are very sizable. The Wii U has had a fraction of that time in the market, has been proven to be stronger than the 360/PS3 (look up Criterion's Need For Speed U port) and is only in the month of March gaining new content.

So no kidding the Wii U sales are slow. Why people are incapable of understanding the concept of cause and effect is mind boggling.

You know what bothers me about that list is the Crysis numbers. Granted i didnt buy it on any platform but i expected much better numbers from the pc. My issue is all the talk pc guys do i would've hoped they would support the developers instead of torrent sites.

Those numbers are terrible considering its the superior version. Atleast The PS3 and Xbox360 gamers bought way more of the "inferior" version, Whats up with that?

the thing about digital sales is that we never ever get numbers released for them. I don't ever understand why people put so much emphasis on their relevance.

it could be 5, 500, 50 000 or 5 000 000 copies of Crysis 3 (or any game for that matter) sold on Steam, XBLM, PSS, Origin, etc. who knows.

Of course they don't. PC gaming, while constantly growing in popularity, is very much a luxury item. Not that gaming itself isn't a luxury, but you know what I mean.

More people are going to own a $200 box that plays Crysis 3 decently than those who own a $1000+ box that plays it spectacularly.

PC gaming, as far as I can tell, will never meet consoles in terms of popularity. Not with how the industry works at the moment, anyway.
However, that doesn't mean PC gaming isn't a legitimate platform. You don't factor in downloads, where most of the copies of this game would have been sold. Even Origin, a system that, like any big, new download service, is rather disliked, people will use it to obtain the big new game.

So, yeah, PC sales don't meet console sales at the end of the day. What of it?

Don't see a whole lot of Lamborghinis on the road, but that doesn't mean there isn't a market for it or that they aren't incredibly badass.

Wtf here doesn't know VG chartz isn't 100 percent correct but close probably within a 6 percent margin, Again Wtf doesn't know allllll companies numbers are shipped which still equals sales because all the stores are buying them. Enough is enough its so annoying hearing the same shit.

On that note it seems Metal gear games no matter what the title of them still sell better on ps3, while Cry sis 2 is selling better on Xbox. After crappy,super generic, over hyped cry sis 2 I gave up on that series and am glad to see my fellow ps3 brethren doing the same. Crytek is a lot of talk and still aren't graphical benchmarks on consoles kz3 still stomps it out in visuals and performance with a locked in 30fps.

For those who choose to ignore VGchartz numbers: I have said many times that, out of principle, I've always used them, even if they didn't favour my console of choice. Now I/you have two options. You either want me to stick with VGchartz numbers (as others do) and concede that the PS3 is 1.3 million behind, or you want us to accept Sony's recent statement that they are level or maybe even slightly ahead. So which would you want me to choose? 77 million or 73.1? I'm happy to go with either.

You can always use vg charts to keep track through the year, but when someone from a company gives you a number then you have to amend the numbers i think, that way you are sticking to what you do while still getting the correct info when it becomes available

Principles are a bugger though. I look at it like this: VGChartz has the PS3 1.3 million behind whilst Sony themselves have them more or less even. People who support other consoles choose to either call VGChartz out or call Sony out on their own numbers ... So how can you possibly compete with that? BUT, when the VGChartz numbers show them even (which will likely happen by Nov) then there will be no doubt whatsoever that it's a fact. Both VGChartz AND Sony will be stating that the PS3 is ahead. At that point fans of other consoles will have nothing left to argue with and hopefully once they've broken away from denial and entered reality we can just get on with gaming.

The better question is why are they arguing in the first place? This has been going on since 2005 when the Xbox 360 came out and many said it would be another failure like the original Xbox and that once again Sony would dominate. That didn't happen. The Wii came out in full force and changed gaming on its head while the Xbox 360 and PS3 went after the same market struggling to one up another.

It was a complete waste of time for 7 or more years with all the bickering going back and forth and VGChartz was often viewed as pure guesses. Outside of Japan the support was a wash so in the end it didn't matter who was ahead of who. It was NOTHING like last generation where the PS2 not only dominated in sales but also in software support. We also heard garbage about how the Xbox 360 wouldn't last that long like the original. It's what, going on 8 years now? What more does Sony or Microsoft have to prove to these people?

As of November 1st of last year Sony announced they reached the milestone of 70 million. So how many systems could we expect to have been sold in 4 months?

Either way it is very close but mind you the PS3 came out a year after which means on average the PS3 sold more per year. Once the PS4 comes out and the next Xbox I expect sales to slow down after the Christmas season of 2014. I expect overall PS3 sales to be more than the Xbox 360 if they aren't already. But again does it really matter now?

Wow PS3 been on a roll lately good for Sony they deserve it and 3DS selling like hot cakes as usual.But damn that Wii U Nintendo has to act fast competition is right around the corner they need to start heavily advertising and getting games out quick to keep it relevant before the PS4/720 releases.
