Editorial: "Blame the game" game

In Chris Root's opinion, maybe instead of blaming the game for its supposed shortcomings we should be looking at what its players are doing.

I'm know I'm in the minority, but I like Crysis 3.

Statix4063d ago

This article is about Crysis 2.

It all depents on how many shooters you've played i guess.
Which isn't an excuse for a game to have zero fresh and original idears worked out.

camel_toad4063d ago (Edited 4063d ago )

I've got to agree with you as far as the how many shooters you've played comment. I've been playing fps' since Doom (1) and unless the fps does something a little different like Dishonored or Bioshock I find myself extremely bored.

EbeneezerGoode4063d ago

Dishonoured did nothing different! it repackaged bits of HL2 and Bioshock and was boring as hell. Clunky, and drab... terrible overhyped game!

" maybe instead of blaming the game for its supposed shortcomings"

Whatever the argument made , i stopped right there . Tired of articles catering , even only in appareances and titles , toward the industry and studios , instead of the gaming base its supposed to serve .

Well we're long past the days of go here, shoot this and reload. FPS games need more sustience now than graphics or simple gun-fights.

I wasn't blown away by Far Cry 3, but at least they are making strides for something new in the genre.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno127d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
