Destructoid- Review: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus

DToid:With the removal of content like Japanese audio and online co-op, this game doesn't offer enough to truly justify the "Plus" in its name. Team Ninja really needs to get its act together going forward, or the Ninja Gaiden series will be beyond repair.

another shitty review, you should be glad that team ninja managed to put this kind of game on a handheld, ive seen lot of reviews for this game and this is the only one who give it a 5.5, seriously? just because it doesnt have japanese audio and co op play
as if this game can be ported to 3ds or ios/android devices....

Japanese audio is nothing. Online, sure maybe a small gripe, but the co-op wasn't even that good to begin with.

dedicatedtogamers4072d ago

The funny part is that I'm pretty sure Destructoid marked down the original a bit because "the co-op feels tacked on". This review sucked. NG2 is great on the Vita, even if you ignore the Vita-specific features.

He says the framerate is awful where as the original stuck at 30 frames.
Has anyone actually played this because I'm interested in getting it if the framerate is fine?

sherimae24134072d ago

the framerate dips when you are in harder difficulties and when there are many enemies onscreen
but in normal its fine dont worry its playable oni-chan ^_^

Okay I'll check it out, thanks for the reply ^_^

what a crap review...I do have to say that there is some lag especially compared to the first when there is a lot of action on screen, but honestly there is very little to tell the graphics apart from the ps3 version... I think that should be commendable!

Also...coop and jap? ok I get it, the jap would've been nice...but we have dead or alive for that:), this doesn't even have much of a "MUST INTERECT" story....so really it's not missed. Also did you ever play coop on the ps3? It was soo laggy that it just made it a broken feature at times.

THis is a GREAT GAME, although easier on the vita...but honestly for a portable it would be ridiculous to make it just as hard because you might not be able to finish it between stops where ever you go.

One thing I did hope they could've added was a temp save anywhere. One where you can save At least the inventory any where through out the level then hop back in a continue...I mean for a portable game not to have any time saving could be a pain for City travellers.

Other than that the game is a 8.5/10 for me. Its awesome, and looks great and very enjoyable, but it lost 1.0 from me because it's not a worth while purchase if you already have it on ps3 or played it couple years back, and lost .5 because of the lag that is sometimes experienced...its very weird lag too its more like masked slowmo lol:P

Anyways I love the game:) Makes me want to play Ninja gaide sigma plus again, but honestly this game is just WAYYYY better in terms of machanics and gameplay...

Gives the game a 5... because of Japanese language and multiplayer was removed? Wow whats next? A 4 rating because you didnt like the box art? Imo a game should get at least a 7 great game play. This is nit picking and bad reviewing. Think about how the game is 2gigs in size...compared to 10 gigs for consoles. Something had to go and amazingly only an unneeded language and a multiplayer that people overlook and frankly is unnecessary for this kind of game. This is what happens when reviewers rate a game on what they like or want instead of actually rating for what it has. A 5.5 for these complants is far too low....smh reason #35a of why reviews are dead to me.

The game is beast and I easily bought it without much hesitation on Tuesday.

The first one came to PS+ to raise interested for the 2nd and it was a year from release. I don't think this one will go any time soon:P Unless the 3rd is coming over too:)

PlayStation Vita's 10 Most Technically Disappointing Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Despite being the most powerful handheld console to be released in 2011, and being more than capable of handling ports of PS2, PS3, and even PS4 titles when the developers put the effort in, not every company was willing to take the time to ensure that the Vita version of their games turned out well - and as such a large number of games are hugely disappointing on the handheld simply due to the way they run.

In this article, I aim to examine these ports – what was disappointing about them (and why they should have been better than they were), as well as possible explanations on why they turned out the way they did - and ultimately come to a conclusion as to how well the Vita did as a machine capable of handling console ports during its lifespan."

Games of the Year: PlayStation Vita

NZGamer - "The PlayStation Vita, despite being a powerful, and great-looking piece of hardware, has been struggling in the market ever since it released. This is perhaps no better underlined than in this very article; not only did we not have ten "top" games to review on the system this year, we didn't post ten reviews full stop - so the list is made up of our top five (or seven, depending on how you count, as there's a three-way tie for 5th place) instead."

Tearaway is brilliant from start to finish. I think Media Molecule is the most imaginative and creative development team around.

Killzone Mercs is incredible. Tear one, AAA, top grade shooter capable of being right up there with any console FPS. I'm looking forward to the teams next game.

Batman AO got a lot of crap but it's an awesome game. The metroidvania game play fits perfectly in this world and it's right up there with the Arkham trilogy.
