Wii U gamepad price almost same price as a PS Vita

PSX-Sense writes: "The Wii U Gamepad is a very cool controller, but that's actually everything. To buy a Wii U Gamepad you will have to pay approximately $150. For a few dollars more you can have your own PS Vita, which is a great handheld and can be used as a controller with the PlayStation 4."

Few dollars more? Uh...last time I checked the vita started at 299.99. That is double the price of the Wii U gamepad.

At target the Lego bundle is 209 dollars.

Yes it is, but don't forget it does not come with a memory card.

Coltrane_C4074d ago

Also the motherboard try is not removable.

. playing with the Vita feels just like when i'm trying to flip half an orange inside out, because my thumbs land in the same position. playing with the gamepad on the other hand makes me smile and my hands almost feel to be inside a perfectly fitting glove .

so no matter the price difference between both handhelds, i and millions of others rather play on the wiiU gamepad rather than a Vita . .facts of comfort

@bully
Shame it's got such a crappy single touch, pressure pad display.
I really like the premise of the wii u, though after having a crack on my friends I was left feeling a little underwhelmed. Playing multiplayer feels ridiculously unbalanced, based on the fact that EVERYONE would rather use the wii u pad than a wii mote or classic controller. Having the most fun pad being reserved for a single gamer is unfair, and un-nintendo. 150 whatevers is far too expensive for a single controller. At least the Vita is worth its price, and exists as it's own entity.

@redrim217

Yeah because multitouch has been so useful in the vita.... Pretty much every game out there is using single touch in the vita as well. Multitouch is pretty much useless when you already have analogs, buttons and triggers

The Vita is about 20,000 yen now in Japan. So this article comes at a good time. Though a few dollars is off by a bit.

Kamikaze1354074d ago

The starting cost of a Vita is $249.99. Target has a sale going on atm as well.

joab7774074d ago

Price drop just came to Japan, will be coming here. By November, expect it to be quite reasonable.

On the other hand, i didnt realize how expensive the touchpad was. This could be an issue for the wiiU.

Literally forgotten about the wii u with all the ps4 talk and what reminds me of it is this negative article. Oh Internet.

Jadedz4074d ago

Though the Wii U also functions as a universal remote (the Wii U system isn't needed to use the gamepad's, "TV function" button).

1upgamer994074d ago

The Wii U and the Vita are not the same thing. I am sure in the next few months the gamepad price will come down, when some games start to support 2 gamepads. Hell Nintendo is losing Money on every Wii U sold, so they have to make some up somewhere. Also 6 years ago I paid $129 for a smart remote for my TV, the gamepad does allot more than that.

What I really want to know is...
Who is the hand model who has the monopoly on holding game devices?

Whoever it is they have pleasant hands.

Wait I was going to say something about the article... MEH.

I hope another game is announced today-
When is the Next Nintendo Directs?
