The War Z Returns to Steam, False Advertising Continues

In another questionable move by a major figurehead within the video game industry, Valve has permitted the return of The War Z to Steam. Having been taken down for outright lying to customers, being obvious unfinished, the developers outright attempting to blackmail those requesting refunds into silence and even a terms of service directly copied and pasted from League of Legends, the game was regarded as a total failure. Its return to Steam after such controversy is a surprising move but it does bring with it a number of changes. Unfortunately many critical problems remain on the page alone.

For the false statements the game needed to be taken down. But for bugs or being a crap game, I don't think Valve should be making that decision, especially after all that happened.

If you get suckered into buying it now, its on you.

With the reputation they have now, no amount of advertising can save them.

seriously really, the day z fanboys need get life and move on, we get it you hate this day z clone, give it a rest now

HammadTheBeast4067d ago

lol it's not even about DayZ lol, it's about how completely stupid and unplayable this game is, pre-beta stage, and they still have the nerve to put in microtransactions.

Here, this video will prove my case completely.

My god the game looks horrible. Looks like it plays like crap too. And no, im not a Day Z fanboy. Never even played it. I have seen the game though, and for it being a mod, it looks a hell of a lot better than this rubbish!

Bimkoblerutso4067d ago (Edited 4067d ago )

Yeah, comparing this game to another game is doing it too much justice.

It's a terrible game on it's own terms. DayZ could never have existed and WarZ would STILL be one of the worst mainstream releases of the past decade.

The fact that it's also one of the most blatant rip-offs of the last decade just adds insult to injury.

...and the lying and downright pathetic PR doesn't help either.

Regardless if it was corrected or not, these people do NOT deserve to be back on the market. But if you wanna buy it, hey, it's your money.

devileyed4067d ago

had this since before alpha release. they have recently nerfed all the loot spawns so you have no choice but to buy ammo from the in game store. i really do wish the worst for the guys.

yodawins4067d ago

actually the loot was fixed a couple of days later...MORON. this game is not a scam seeing as there's hundreds of thousands of players enjoying it atm. if you dont like he game get over it and move on and let people enjoy whatever they want to play. btw the game is still in beta if any of you could read.

SSJBen4067d ago

These "hundreds of thousands" of players to speak about, may I know where to look for them?

Because as far as I've been hearing, these "hundreds of thousands" of players can't even be vocal enough to defend the game (like talk about its pros) of like... a hundred supposed "MORONS" you are calling talking about DayZ's cons.

So?

CrustifiedDibbs4066d ago (Edited 4066d ago )

Hundreds of thousands of players??? Lol

There are 740 on steam right now. You got the " hundreds" part right. Lol.

Warz is a disgrace to gaming and a flat out insult to gamers.

Hated Games That Actually Had Some Neat Gameplay Mechanics

Let's face it, there are some hated games out there that are just complete trash. The developers responsible for these games usually have little clue about game balancing and their poor decisions usually leave their game to die in the dust.

However, sometimes a developer will make an absolutely terrible game that still has some admirable game mechanics.
