GOW VS GOW- Which Game will be More Impressive?

Gears of War: Judgment and God of War: Ascension share more in common than the same initials. With great similarities, as well as, vast differences these game are actually a subject to be compared. Gears of War: Judgment is of course exclusive to Xbox, as God of War: Ascension is to PS3, which makes these game all the more competitive towards one another. While as these games play for different teams, they are both a new direction for a beloved series. Both titles are set to release within a week of the other so the stakes are high. Putting all else aside, what the comparison really comes down to is which game will be more impressive than the other.

Is it me, or do games seem less weighty today. Maybe its the next gen or the industry is so saturated with triple a titles. Maybe its because i love rpgs and the last year has seen so many good ones. I remember a time when if a dead space, DmC, crysis, tombraider, God of War, and Gears of War all released within a month, it would be insane...like the greatest 3 months in gaming ever! But thats not reality. Maybe we are sequeled out. I will be honest. I picked up ni no kuni and i love it. The only game i am actually looking forward to is bioshock. If i have time, i will either grab far cry 3, tomb raider or God of War. Its seems blasphemous not to get God of War day 1. I have played them all, love them, and the demo for Ascencion is phenomonal. For the furst time though, i have so many unfinished games on my shelf and so many that at one time, i would never miss. I guess i will have time in may to go back, but then there is the last of us. WTF!!!!!

Far Cry 3 was awesome. Both GoW games are day ones for me. God of War will always be my favorite franchise though. Gears is my favorite 360 franchise though.

God of War DOESN'T have a fixed camera, it has an automated camera. There's a big difference. The Resident Evil games on PS1 had fixed camera angles, in God of War they're completely dynamic and make for a much more enjoyable and cinematic experience thanks to not having the burden of constantly adjusting the camera view.

God of War: Ascension will be much better than Gears of War: Judgment. I loved Gears 1 & 2 but 3 sucked and Gears: J looks worse in every way and it's being made by a B-level developer. Every God of War has been a masterpiece and God of War: Ascension is very likely to be the best in the series yet, it also has an amazing genre-defining new MP component which is just the cherry on top of the delicious cake.

God of War: Ascension has changed A LOT. The combat and platforming has been overhauled, the art-style and sound is drastically different, it's got a much more in-depth story and varied locations and there's a genre-defining new MP component which I consider a significant change.

I can't think of a single AAA game that has changed as much as God of War: Ascension has from its predecessor.

I'll play God of War for the single player and Gears of War for the multiplayer.

Gears is pretty much the only game I play online regularly because it's such a unique MP experience. There's more to it than whoever sees the other player first gets the kill like just about every other online shooter. There's truly an art to the way you combine rolls, roadie runs, and cover bouncing to maneuver around the map and evade your enemies. This is a game where a lone guy can take on an entire team all at once if he's skilled enough. There is a sharper learning curve, but when you have mastered the movement and gunplay in Gears, there is simply no other MP experience as satisfying.

I don't own an Xbox anymore, but having played Gears 2 for quite a long time, as well as watching friends play it, its true. The MP is nothing like many other game. Uncharted is the closest and that is nothing like it. There is a weight and overall feel of your characters is part of what makes it so unique.

We've only had 1 PS3 God of War this gen, and we're overdue for a new one.
