That boost can only be attributed to MGR. I see no other reason for it. I really hope that the PS4 reveal doesn't reduce the spikes that GOWA is going to create next month. We may even see a mini spike for Sly in Europe too. I'm not going to quote Jack Tretton because I've used VGchartz throughout -- for better or worse. They have the gap at 1.3 now so I'm still sticking with November for the catch up.

The ps3 boost might be because people were waiting for the PS4 to enjoy PS3 games but once they heard it doesn't support BC they went and bought one.

Yeah, you might be right. In that case It's something of an anomaly

@moonman: It will certainly outsell it -- it has done every year -- but I very much doubt that it will double the sales. The PS3 only needs to sell between 40 - 60,000 more a week for the PS3 to catch the 360 by November. Throw in a spike or two (which could give us a difference of over 100,000 for a couple of weeks) and it's easily attainable for November.

The only scenario that could create what you suggest is IF the 360 drops drastically in sales over the next few months and I can't see that happening to be honest. I can't say for sure it won't but I'm damn close to certain it won't. But to play devils advocate: If it does, I expect it to catch up in October.

People who say Nintendo is dying are quite incorrect. Even if the Wii U isn't taking off, Nintendo is still doing great up there!
Here's to hoping all three companies do great in this upcoming generation. I, for one, am incredibly excited to be a gamer.

The Wii U got a slight bump, which is good. That should really start firing up by next month - As that's when we're going to see some software coming out on it. Three big titles already coming out next month:

- LEGO CITY: UNDERCOVER
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted U
- Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate

~ Maybe now people will start paying just a little more attention to the U. We could even see some ads popping up, again.
