The PlayStation 4 was announced last week, but Sterling wasn't quite feeling the buzz.
The PS4 is interesting, Sony's plans are promising, but the industry itself, and the culture of business around console games? THAT is what needs a new generation. Hardware is just a placebo if the attitudes showcased at the big PS4 reveal are anything to go by.
A brand new game from Annapurna has been announced at The Game Awards. It is from the creators of Abzu. The Pathless is a console exclusive to PlayStation 4
I could see it being a timed exclusive ala Edith Finch which Annapurna published for Giant Sparrow last year. Either way, they seem to have a good relationship with Sony if they’re doing it again. Giant Squid’s working on it too and Abzu was free on Plus last year.
This week Gareth, Michael, and Justin at Skewed and Reviewed look at the reveal of Fallout 76. They also discuss the leaked PS4 titles from the pending E3 showcase and discuss Dark Souls: Remastered and PAX West tickets going on sale as well as no theatrical presentation at E3 for Black Ops IIII.

I’m so torn on fallout 76 I would love another game similar to new Vegas but it doesn’t sound like it. At the same time it’s fallout and I’ll wanna play it either way but I may skip it if it is going the way of what the “leaks” are saying.I’m just hoping it ends up being more new Vegas style than what these “leaks” are saying.
Not sure why people are so opposed to multiplayer fallout, I think it's a great universe to co op in . Now if it's PvP functionality, not so much. plus it doesn't sound like this replaces the existence of a fallout 5 down the road, and I wouldn't doubt if another developer is working on a new Vegas line spin off. Let's just breathe, and see how this turns out.
PlayStation 4 exclusive Detroit: Beyond Human has released to a tide of critical acclaim for its technical accomplishments and narrative-driven format, amid concerns over its approach to themes of android and human civil rights, domestic abuse, slavery and oppression.
No it doesn't! It's still a technical marvel and it's narrative and themes are great! Most are having a blast with it and really there's just a very small minority that is upset with it!
Enjoyed the game, the story, the attention to detail and the music. Very immersive indeed.
(Reminder, slavery/exploitation knows no colour.)
79% on metacritic is a travesty. I know the type of game it is not for everyone and some crazy reviews gave it 4/10. But anyone who enjoys story in games knows this is one of best games of the year so far, if not the best.
I beat the game and I already miss the characters, I know it's an open ended game but I wish they would find a way to make a sequel.
for a moment thier I felt Sterling will slit his wrists at the end of the video, sounded more like a suicide note than a rant.
I think it is a little too early to question Sony whether they will have innovative & unique game experiences on their console. The PS4 event was to me just a tease of things to come the appetizer before the main course that is E3.
The show laid out the groudwork that Sony is planning to build with the PS4 & the games shown are early foundations. I have no doubt that Sony will continue to support unique game experiences like they have been doing so for close to 20 years. Think about it, these are the guys that brought us ICO, Shadow of the Collossus, Flower, Journey, Heavy Rain, Patapon, Loco Roco, Tokyo Jungle, Unfinished Swan, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, & a whole lot more.
Add to the idea that Indie developers have the ability to self publish on the PS4 (PSN) is even more exciting to see what the Indie community will bring...Jonathon Blow being the first with 'The Witness'.
I know Jim wasn't singling out Sony but wouldn't be more appropriate to give us this rant after seeing what Microsoft has to offer. If they are more of the same than yeah rant away.
*also that video that Sony showed about the developers a lot of them are from Sony's internal studios with a few 3rd party ones like Ninja Theory & Tim Shaefer. And we all know that Sony's internal studios know how to get the most out of a Sony platform.
Paraphrased: "I understand why PS3 disc games don't work on PS4 because they moved away from The Cell, but there's no excuse for PSN titles"
PSN games are also developed using the Cell, they are just like disc games, but not on discs...
"PSN games should work on PS4 because downloadable PS3 PSN games work on Vita"
Nope, they are redeveloped for Vita, it is not the same file...
I've been to enough press conferences to know that first reveals should always be taken with a grain of salt. I hope Sony delivers on everything it mentioned at the press con....there's a tremendous upside to PS4 if it all comes together, but we've all been burned before in some respect.
Now how about making the Crash Bandicoot games available to download on my PS Vita in the U.S.?
He is right about David Cage.
