The head of PlayStation UK has expressed his opinion over the backlash Sony received following its decision not to show PlayStation 4 hardware during its reveal last week, telling VideoGamer.com that "it's much more important to see what the damn thing does" than showing "the shiniest piece of black, green or purple plastic".
A brand new game from Annapurna has been announced at The Game Awards. It is from the creators of Abzu. The Pathless is a console exclusive to PlayStation 4
I could see it being a timed exclusive ala Edith Finch which Annapurna published for Giant Sparrow last year. Either way, they seem to have a good relationship with Sony if they’re doing it again. Giant Squid’s working on it too and Abzu was free on Plus last year.
The PlayStation Store has released its sales charts for 2017, with football sim Fifa 18 taking the top spot followed closely by Call of Duty WWII in 2nd.
Let's cast our minds back across the last twelve months and take a moment to remember the winners and losers for PlayStation in 2017.
If the vita was dead there wouldn't be games being released to the platform for example, the PS1 is dead... PS2 is dead, PS3, Vita isn't dead.
Most (if not all) of the cynicism comes from people that want the PS4 (and Sony in general) to fail. I've seen some ridiculous, yet very popular youtube videos that are supposed to be funny but you can clearly see that they're trying to kill as much hype as they can.

VG charts still has 720 2 mil over PS4
Sorry people, I understand you might feel MS fanboys are trying to denounce the PS4, but if you announce new hardware...you show of the new hardware. Even if its a quick look, you show the form factor. Have you ever known Apple to announce a new phone or pad and not show the device form factor? HTC has a presser for their new phones...guess what you see..the new phone. Nintendo even with the WiiU which was a presser dominated by the gamepad showed the hardware briefly and then focused back on the controller.
The lack of showing a form factor was a glaring omission from the Sony meeting.
"Fans expecting to see the console took to social networks to express their disappointment over Sony's decision not to show the hardware"
I bet not one of the complaints was from fans. N4G reflects what happens in the real world, you have gamers excited to get a glimpse of what to come then there’s brand whores and children trying to play down the PS4 because Sony has offended them in some way.
