The Playstation Meeting 2013 is over. Some may consider the event a mixed bag of emotions. Some fans were left happy while others were not. In the end though, nobody can doubt its memorability. Here are five reason why the Playstation Meeting was unforgettable and how it will shape the future of Sony.
Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
"While the announcement is great, the principles behind the system are even more important."
I 100% agree with this. While some may have thought Sony were just throwing around big words, there was a sense that these words had a real world impact on the development of the console itself.
Immediacy was one of those words and we can see from some of the features of PS4, i.e instant boot/game state saving and playing a game before it's downloaded, that Sony is not just blowing hot air.
They managed to clearly define their focus and, as a gamer, put my mind at ease with the direction of the Playstation brand as a gaming platform first and foremost.
The 'killer-app' games will come inevitably but for now I'm happy that Playstation 4 will be a great piece of kit with the gamer at the heart of the system.
At the end of the day we're all here because we share a common love for games.
As of right now Sony seems to be leading in that department so therefor i will be purchasing a ps4 first.
Because they didnt show the console
LOL
Hey its true the press remembers more about the lack of a physical console at the event than all the games that they showed. Heck many trolls are using this as ammunition in their pathetic comments.
Mr. Mark "Sonic, Crash, Spyro, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted" Cerny
