There's only one per platform save for the DS and PS2. How's it being milked when compared to Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty?

Mykky4075d ago (Edited 4075d ago )

I believe milking is when the games stop being good. I would define all the remakes, Coded and 358/2 days milks but DDD, Chain of Memories and Birth By sleep were all good.

PopRocks3594075d ago (Edited 4075d ago )

I'm not a fond of any of the DS games or Birth By Sleep. I liked 3D and Chain of Memories though.

I know what platforms have had Kingdom Hearts games, I said save for the DS and PS2, there has only been a single KH game on each platform.

@PopRocks359

I know what you meant. But as you can see this is just too long of a list for a series that has not reached #3 yet.

I like Kingdom Hearts, but Coded for moblie? CoM for GameBoy? really?

badz1494075d ago

when they decided to make the story as complicated as it's unnecessary! the way they spin the plot is unbelievable and it's no longer just about Sora but every freaking character in the game!

cloud4954075d ago

Well considering it's been out for nearly 11 years and has around seven main titles with the others being remakes, final mixs or mobile/ browser games. It's not that bad compared to other game series.

But the story is getting confusing. I just really hope KH3 is the next KH game with it coming out before the end of 2014.

Also hoping KH 1.5 HD remix gets a release date for NA/ PAL regions. ( We all know it's coming Square-Enix)

no_more_heroes4075d ago

Well, since they're doing a an HD Remix of 1, they need to do an HD remix of 2. It just needs to happen. I would snap that up faster than Goofy can yell "Haaaaalllllpppp!!!"

Make it happen, Square... -_-

Hufandpuf4075d ago

All they needed to make was KH3, but no. They screwed the story with spinoffs and lore and totally disconnected the people that didn't have the platforms to play them.

no_more_heroes4075d ago

I once heard Nomura say that he learned from Sakaguchi that you need to make the story as grandiose and confusing as possible. Maybe not in those exact words, but something along those lines. It's buried in an interview from a few years ago I think.

I wish I could provide a link, but it's there somewhere on the internet. Might take a while to find.

"But while I was developing the first Kingdom Hearts, I received a single piece of advice from Sakaguchi-san*. That was, 'If you don’t make it more complex like with Final Fantasy, you won’t be able to compete.'"

Godchild10204075d ago (Edited 4075d ago )

And look where Final Fantasy has ended up. It worked for FF early one, but this gen it has not been working for SE. I hope KH doesn't stray to far from what has made the series great with the next entry.

Pozzle4075d ago (Edited 4075d ago )

When Sakaguchi said "complex" I doubt he meant "convoluted and confusing as hell". :(

Though I don't see what's wrong with a game that isn't complex. I liked Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 the most BECAUSE they are just simple and clean (pardon the pun! haha) games. What was wrong with traveling to different Disney worlds to defeat the Heartless? Did it really need to be any more "complex" that that? :(

SugarSoSweet4075d ago

Exactly do people even care anymore??

Mykky4075d ago

I'm sure KH3 will reconnect those who fell off. At least I hope so, would be stupid if not, but then again we are talking about Square Enix...

Cerv-Clash4075d ago

I only played 1 and 2. I forgot almost everything. Guess I missed alot from the other releases?

Is the franchise being milked?

Considering what was supposed to be a trilogy has amassed fifteen different logos before the third game, I'm gonna hazard a guess and say, "Yes. Obviously. A blind man with his eyes gouged out and his face buried in a block of cement in the Marianas trench could see as much."

Hicken4075d ago

A franchise is milked when it begins to get stale. When the story stalls. When it's the same old thing.

Can't say Kingdom Hearts is at that point yet.

Besides, who said it was supposed to be a trilogy originally?

fatstarr4074d ago

its the worst type of milked

console/system exclusive and then 3 years later it comes out for the console you already have in an advanced and remixed forum.

I own a psp for no reason except to play birth by sleep.

smh the only ones that matter = 1, 2, birth by sleep, 3DS,

the rest = story filler to get background and a sense from other characters

im amazed square hasnt milked one where you play as the villain.

perfectCarbonara4075d ago (Edited 4075d ago )

Did they really miss an opportunity name a game Re:birth By Sleep ?

But we have Re:chain and Re:coded ?

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle11d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger11d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag11d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

jznrpg15d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
