What Game From Your Childhood Would Like To See Re-Released?

Gaming Steve asks, "I was asked which game I would love to see come out for the Nintendo Virtual Console / Xbox Live Arcade / PlayStation Network. It was a tricky question as there are so many games I would love to play again from my childhood, but right at the very top of my list was one of my favorite games of all time, StarTropics.

So imagine my shock when I heard that Nintendo was releasing StarTropics for the Virtual Console ... today!

What game from your childhood would like to see re-released?"

Dude, I have no freaking idea why Nintendo dropped Star Tropics but they need to pick it back up. My game(s) though would have to be Ranger X, a TRUE sequel to Chronotrigger, updated Illusion of Gaia, River City Ransom, and anything from Treasure.

they're too busy making Blue Dragon 2 for the 360.

Skerj5943d ago (Edited 5943d ago )

They wouldn't be able to make it anyway since Square owns the right, which is good because I couldn't stand the first Blue Dragon. If they stopped remaking the first 4 Final Fantasy games repeatedly then they could do it because Chrono Cross didn't cut it.

awww man you didn't like chrono cross? I thought it was great how they managed to make a completely different game, but still kept elements from the past one (crono, lucca, marle making an apearance etc.) The fighting system also has to be one of the best in a jrpg. And don't even get me started on the music...the song that plays on the world map in Another World...amazing

the new versions of both franchises suck. I hate Traveler's Tales and Vicarious Visions for that.

alex the kidd, the one that was built into the master system

Contra with some network Co-Op would be sweet.

At that price, I'm gonna go get TMNT and suck at it all over again

That electric seaweed is calling my name!

Longie_long822d ago

The sound when you touch it... I hear it in my dreams.

I remember one of the levels in Retro City Rampage was paying homage to those seaweed segments. Not quite as hard but man did it bring back bad memories of my many deaths on that level. Never did beat that game without the Game Genie. Same with Battletoads. lol

The top-down view theme music was stuck in my head all day as a kid.

I'm not sure if I ever completed a no-damage seaweed run.

Double Dragon 2 is one of the best!! Several good games on this list! Shadowgate, P.O.W., and Klax. That is actually a super fun puzzle game! TMNT, I think every time after the seaweed, I only had like 1 Turtle left. lol

Shadowgate was how I got so familiar with Nintendo's helpline lol. But man did I love that game.

And wow I forgot all about P.O.W. until you mentioned it. Man being a kid with a NES really was the good ol days.

Best birthday ever: 15 and I got a Super Nintendo with Super Mario World, Pilot Wings and Street Fighter. (Spoiled rotten) And I saw Basic Instinct at the theater!

Top 10 games that break the 4th wall

"Players usually remain safe and separate from the games they are playing. They are free to wreak havoc and violence in their digital world with no consequences. It’s a safety barrier that creates a comfortable level of escapism that most games share. Shatter that safety barrier and you create a sense of immersion that can be powerful, emotional, and sometimes unsettling."

Honourable mention to PT for making me think my console was haunted lol. Remember the reboot to main menu and debug screens? Even the pause menu had a hidden clue in it.
