I'm not sure if DNF is hated MORE than A:CM, but interesting list!

wallis4073d ago

I'd agree. Five main reasons A:CM is my most hated game.

First there's gearbox's outsourcing of borderlands 2 DLC which shows a willful intent to try and take credit for someone else's work while shoveling us total crap. Aliens was most definitely not a mistake but just one of a series of business ventures made by gearbox that aimed to push the workload onto companies without the customers or investors realizing.

Secondly there's the aliens rpg that actually looks awesome which we now know was cancelled, further rubbing in the wound that was aliens: CM.

Thirdly, no one has ever looked into a camera, not even Peter Molyneux, and bullshitted their video game so much in the history of the universe. Not even Romero's infamous bitch ads were this stupid because at least Romero didn't have twitter back then.

Fourthly, yeah twitter. Let's run with that and Randy Pitchfords pathetic self-sorry attitude of "I'm an optimist" and so on. This has guy has screwed up - as a developer and a company executive. He outsourced his product to a terrible company and it didn't work out and he won't even take the rap for it like a man. He just tucks his nuts away and shows his ass to twitter asking for gentle kisses and nothing more. To make the whole situation even more of a mockery I think he's drawing lipstick kisses on his hands to try and boost his ass' ratings. It's laughable.

Finally, what upsets me the absolute most about A:CM? Sega will have taken a massive financial hit on this so buy buy franchise for the next decade. What SHOULD be an epic and thriving sub-genre of games is in reality a pitiful string of attempts that have shown no progress since Avp2 in the late 90's. A:CM should have turned it around but instead filled the gaps of its own tomb with polyfill just to ensure a quick asphyxiation.

I completey forgot about the Aliens RPG
I wish we had that instead...

MGS2 is an amazing game. It doesn't deserve to be hated, at all.

Welshy4073d ago

I agree, despite the whole Raiden thing, i think the overall game was still really enjoyable.

Plus it pushed the boundaries of gameplay and graphics on console level, something DNF didn't even scratch the surface of.

TheLiztress4073d ago

I understood why people got upset over the whole Raiden deal in MGS2. But I thought he was a decent character.

who ever put metal gear solid 2 in there needs to go smack them selves sideways.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC3h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer4h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya2h ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde2h ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

I'd put Street Fighter 2 over 3. 2 and all its different versions dominated the arcade scene back in the day in a way that 3 never did.

Abear21167d ago

Agreed, Same with Metal Gear Solid imo. Came for Bioshock and was not disappointed. Would easily put Burger Time or Space Taxi over tempest. Also, OG Sim City and Oregon Trail. Mario 64 as well. Just too many!

Abear21167d ago

Never played it I gotta get on this one

Double_O_Revan166d ago

Me too. I didn't have a GC until way later and never played it. I've been waiting on Nintendo to release the HD edition on the Switch for forever, but they just won't!

FinalFantasyFanatic166d ago

I never bought a Gamecube, I've always had an urge to play this game, maybe it'll get a remaster in the future.

LoveSpuds166d ago

I played it on WiiU for the first time and it remains my fave Zelda game to date. So much character and a real sense of exploration without the open world bloat.

Petebloodyonion166d ago

Ms Pacman?
Robotron?
SSF2 Turbo over 3 simply by the 10000000000's ports of the game we're still having
Castlevania SOTN?
Zelda Link to the Past over Wind Waker
Super Mario Bros 3?
Chrono Trigger?
Resident evil4?
COD MW2 (the original)?
Uncharted 2
Metal Gear Solid?

Here's my reasoning for all of them versus the list proposed in the article.
They are still quite enjoyable from start to finish on their original platform, unlike some Wind Waker or Okami that are fun when you play the remastered version (unless you call: forced to watch a 20-minute cutscene or have to blow for wind chance constantly fun).
Some of them are the pinnacle of what the console could do (MGS, Chrono, MGS)
Lots of them are still considered the go-to-go game for their genre.

Said it before but Heart of Darkness is truly a timeless gem.
