Nothing wrong with broadcasting your opinions as long as you can back them up with concrete facts. This article might or might not (I haven't read it myself because it sounds like this is more of the latter), but that doesn't mean we shouldn't welcome newer and/or smaller sites that are trying to make a name for themselves by having a brash opinion, even if it's one we venomously disagree with.

Stock dropped 1% after the PS4 was announced. 1% could be market fluctuation, you dont see a rise in stock until once the console is near its release. Other factors could play a role in why the Sony did not rise... do some research before you start rambling non sense. I would like to hear from you what lies did Sony say about the PS4.

Sony never once say they will "Reveal" the console. They always said they had an "announcement" to make. Announcement and reveal has two different meaning. Its the journalist who said the Sony will "reveal" the PS4 on 2/20/13 Sony never said it themselves.

I think they didn't announce the title because they may have made a financial deal with another company, MS or Nintendo, to announce their game on that console first.

How do you over deliver when you leave so much out, including revealing the console? I was excited to see what they were up to but the article makes some good points and that whole event did seem a bit rushed IMO. Why would they say they would let MS go first and then 2 weeks later do that? I think things over at sony are farther behind than they are willing to admit. Then again I could be wrong. Its a strategy, do you really think Sony will make the same mistake and give Microsoft the upper hand? Sony wanted to give Microsoft a uphill battle by doing it first. By saying they will let microsoft go first, it will throw them off. I believe they did a pretty good job hyping up the PS4. For weeks, everyone was talking about the announcement of the PS4. You don't show your full hand when you don't know what cards the other guy is holding. Sony only needed to confirm that they already have a next gen console and it's capabilities. You don't just show a product without building anticipation cause that will simply kill the interest if people already know everything. You can already see the effect of what they've done. Everyone in the gaming industry is talking about the PS4 and wants to know more about it, which is exactly what Sony wants. As Kayoss has said, it is a strategy. This console business is a battle and one needs to out think the other in order to come out at top. I am actually happy that Sony has resorted to this method and they have learned from their past mistakes.

Nothing really strategic about letting people know next gen games are being developed. I think most of us knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. Reveals don't mean anything. It's how you carry out your plan that matters. If they are confident enough to reveal first then they should be confident with their whole plan for ps4. Some of the Rumours about the PS4 were true but at the end of the day those were rumours. Sony never once mentioned any spec for the PS4 prior to the announcement of the PS4. Same goes with the nextbox, so far all the specs about the nextbox we heard are from "reliable sources". Let not take rumours and turn them into facts. For all we know the Nextbox may have 8 Gddr5 too. I wonder once the Nextbox is announce would we have a opioniated article like this about the nextbox??

Yea I was on Facebook after the unveil and on the Playstation page comments were some of the most ignorant, borderline mental retardation kind of comments all throughout.

Anything from PS4 will be 1000$ to PS4 is releasing to fast just for money, to the currently veiled 720 is a better console, to Sony confirmed no Used games, to I won't buy one because they didn't show the console.

Sonys unveil was better than 99 percent of the unveils in the past simply because they gave us a lil bit of information on everything but not divulging all the goodies. They talked specs, social innovation and did what companies rarley do except Sony and that is live demo gameplay for all to see what ps4 has to offer not just some bs tech demo that will never come to fruitation.

Sony is real smart they had an unveil but basically will keep micros thunder at bay during e3 because for many Sony will have another unveil during E3 mainly the hardware casing, the price and more games. Its the Art of war and not putting all your eggs in one basket.

The one thing that I do find "fishy" is that the president of that division saw the controller final design a day or so before the event. Even if it is great marketing and a good business move by getting the jump....

If your higher up guy JUST sees the design, one of three things is going on. He is a moron for not having a say in his division... The people higher then him don't trust his input on said device... Or the more likely situation this event was rushed. Someone, somewhere in the company decided to move earlier. This is what I believe happened.

I wonder if any of you have ever worked at a big company like sony,microsoft or even majorproviders who sell set-up boxes. the top guys have nothing to do with the design or looks, its their job to make sure the company makes profit/grows. Clearly Sony felt it was a good time and it was far enough in R&D developement that final specs for both machines are pretty much done. MS really can't "change" their hardware at this point so Sony didn't need to fear a "one upping" based on their reveal.

This was a silly article. Sony did an amazing job at the event and gave us plenty of info outside of the appearance of the PS4. It wasn't a rush job. It was just good marketing strategy.

By keeping the PS4 back, they can maximize interest and curiosity in the console until E3 where they will be basically guaranteed to make a huge splash (and steal some of MS's thunder) when they actually reveal the physical console. Along with that I suspect we'll get even more info on its other features and even more gameplay footage.

Besides, who cares what it looks like? When you're gaming, are you looking at your screen or are you staring at your console to enjoy its aesthetic value? The only thing that matters is what it does and if it can at least do what they have shown and confirmed thus far, then I'm happy.

There's a chance that I could be wrong of course and that they may have screwed up somewhere, but I seriously doubt it.
