The Playstation 4 Will Be a Black Box, Grow the **** Up

They basically did the opposite of what everyone does when revealing a new system. Usually companies reveal the console and hide the specs but this time around Sony provided the specs while hiding the console. I can careless about how the console looks. They provided the information to know what the system will be capable of which is more important. Plus people are dumb if they believe sony was going to go all out. They need to have some new and refreshing material to go against what Microsoft has for e3. I was truly satisfied with the announcements yesterday and can't wait for e3 to see how they build up from where they left off.

I am sure there are many reasons but what they did was kinda ingenius. They took the focus off of a box and put it where it belongs...on the tech. Today my thoughts are all about the games, the features, the unbelievable possibilities. They did show the controller, which was leaked, and i really like it. It was also smart because the only thing that could have happened is negative. It takes focus off of whats important and everyone begins writing about and picking apart the look. Also, they did exactly what they should of, create an amazing sense of wonder without giving away the whole thing. they also put the ball in microsofts court. If they counter, they will have to chose what to show. Then sony can counter back. Also, they left just enough for E3 etc.

And who knows, maybe they are not 100% on the final design. As far as pricing, they will wait for microsoft and the market as we draw closer. Well done Sony. I love my xbox, but Sony is back on track and despite their failing TV and mobile phones divisions and microsofts spending ability, Sony may once again be right where it needs to be to get the crown back. Its too early but what a comeback story. In 20yrs they will be teaching ppl about how Sony turned around the ps3 and the playstation brand by giving consumers what they want...and it isnt a well designed box....it is GAMES!!!!

i liked how sony were focused on the games and i also like how they announced the ps4 specs out straight at the start without beating around the bush. i also like how there was little to no mention of the ps move(apart from media molecules' wacky,weird but fairly entertaining presentation) and motion control.

The Devs are happy, it was designed with their input.

Gamers should be happy, it appears to be a very capable machine. And it's focus on simplicity, ease of use and speed of operation sounds great.

It is so funny. This is what i encountered on G+ as well. A lot of people were mad they didn't see the box lol!.

Once you get the specs you don't need to see the box until its near launch date.

It's just a lot of uninformed idiots. They are not gamers.

Here on N4G most of us never really care about the box. Controllers yes because it is quite important. Games yes because thats what's it's all about. Features yes because they are important for the gaming expereince. How the box will look?. No. lol!.

I suspect a lot of xbots are out in full force to try and bring Sony down.

It does not matter though. Devs are super happy with the PS4 specs and that's way more important than trolls opinions.

Only time I even look at my system is when I need to change discs or charge my controller. As long as isn't some complete eyesore I don't really care too much.

That's whats so frustrating about it. How the box will look is the least important thing and yet out of all the important things that were announced yesterday a lot of people were focusing on the box casing lol!.

For an announcement of a new console. The most important things are

1. The new console specs
2. The input device (controller) you will use.
3. How the games on the new console will look.
4. Potential launch window titles.
5. Publishers and devs supporting it
6. Launch date.
7. Price

Out of all of these important information to discuss and yet people focused on how the console casing will look like?. It is absolutely stupid.

Sony shown the first five points and i am sure they will give us the price and launch date in June.

As i said. Just some uninformed idiots. They think a home gaming console is like a smartphone where the looks are kinda important. Idiots. It's not like you will be carrying around your PS4 like a smartphone where everyone will see it.

We all know it's going to look like any other home console in size and shape. It is the least important thing and you don't really need to know in anycase until near launch.

This exactly what I said yesterday, I rather know the specs, see the games then get to know how ps4 is going to look like. Is not like I'm going to play with the console. I'm going to play the games the console is going to run! Sony did a smart thing, they are not going to show all their cards yet but Some people will alway find something to complain about.

People must prefer Nintendo's method of showing a tablet controller, not showing the actual WiiU, giving zero specs, and promising more mario related games.

Even after the WiiU launched we didn't get concrete specs until someone tore the thing open! Is that what you want?

I think Sony accomplished what they wanted to show yesterday what the ps4 is capable of and to get people to talk and talk about it, leading up to e3 most likely. Sony is playing it like a chess game, making only few moves and waiting for their competitor to make their move next.
