not having played FFVII all this time while it's readily available on multiple platforms just shows you dont really want to play FFVII.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid Square Enix will never intend to develop any Final Fantasy VII remake. They probably will continue to release spin-off games like they did with Crisis Core or Dirge Cerberus, but according to me, a FF7 remake is very unlikely.

(and I secretly would LOVE a proper FF7 remake)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Personally, I don't want 3D HD environments, I just would like the same FFVII, with Advent Children-like character models, redone world map and 2D HD environments.

Unfortunately, even that is quite a huge amount of work, and it doesn't necessarily grant success.

this tech-demo was showed months ago with their new Engine (tho they didn't use the PS4 for it that time).
there is nothing new about this and he did say it was a tech-demo and NOT a game. just watch the Event for yourself.

Agreed entirely. I was half expecting them to play that old video/'demo' and low and behold they did. They re-gifted us with it.

Perhaps SEnix should stop wasting time on tech 'demos' and start working on things that they would get paid for...you know like FFVSXIII!? At this point I don't think anyone even cares.

Actually, right after the Agni's Philosophy trailer (Luminous Engine's tech demo), Shinji Hashimoto (Square Enix's Final Fantasy brand manager) clearly said a Final Fantasy game was planned on PS4, with more informations coming at E3.

They have given up on striving to be at the top of the pack now all we get is laziness....I'd rather have seen EA there.

SE announces everything too soon. VersusXIII 6/7 years ago, FFXIV broken game on release. FFXHD 2011. oh w8 Kingdom Hearts HD is coming out before it even tho we announced FFXHD first.

BUT anyway heres what I want at E3 from SE:
VersusXIII gameplay/realase date
FF:LR(I need closure from the XIII series)
Announce Bravely default Localization
FFXHD Update
Next gen FF?(Unless they were talking about Versus)

I found Squares demo to be very exciting and oh so beautiful. I don't think it was too soon i mean come on who didnt know one was coming. Whether it's the demo shown (Which i suspect) or not is yet to be seen.
