Major missed opportunities in the Playstation 4 meeting

Focus on the negative instead of talking about all the info. Some of these websites are just taking shot after shot at Sony. Go read all the failed articles it's a joke. Video game journalism needs to grow up.

The only thing I laughed about the Sony Conference is how Square keeps showcasing these amazing CGI, Ingame, or whatever it is whenever they can't finish previous titles such as VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There' nothing wrong with criticism. If no one ever criticized Sony/MS/Nintendo, they would always do the bare minimum. There's 1000 positive articles for every 1 negative right now. It's not a big deal, not everyone is a troll you know. Sony can't please everyone.

It goes beyond pro and con. It's outright hate. People have been saying it this whole gen. If people can't see it by now they are part of the problem. We as gamers should demand accountability from journalists to have an unbiased viewpoint.

I don't think this was honestly meant to come across as hate. The article description even says it was a very successful conference. I personally loved the whole thing except was very disappointed with Media Molecules confusing segment last night. The difference is, I wouldn't go and write an article about it.

I guess you're always going to get somebody who isn't quite satisfied. It's definitely a bit moan-y. We all know Sony has other stuff to announce in the coming months so lets just wait and see. These next few months are going to be possibly the most exciting there will ever be in gaming, as I feel we might not see consoles in this form again in the future. Lets make the most of it.

"Essential details, like the cost of the hardware" This right there is what's wrong with so called journalism. Who in the right mind was expecting Sony to announce the price of the PS4? When has a company announced a console and a price the same day?

Theres was nothing, NOTHING, wrong with that meeting yesterday. Sony never said what they're showing. The fact that this meeting came out of nowhere, the fact that Sony never gave info other than come see the future of Playstation, the fact they showed just that in two hours instead of one, and didnt pull a Wonder Book on us..... You can't get no better. Its Feb 20th for crying outloud. Why will Sony show everything they have? This is like poker, not spades. We still have TGS, GDC, and E3. Sony needs to save info to keep this momentum moving forward.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Square Enix is the worst developer nowadays. They never released Versus XIII, and now they are teasing another FF for E3? I don't get why they were there in the first place. They screwed with Sony fans so many times this generation, that I don't think anyone wants them anymore.

Tell me, how did Sony repeat N's mistake? They gave us spec and told us about the console controller and a few of it's features....at their own private event. NOT at E3 like N did for two years.

The author also calls Resistance FoM and Killzone generic shooters, so his opinion no longer matters. There's nothing generic about Killzone and it's hated on for not being CoD enough.

As for the David Cage segment, the whole point of it was to show how it's possible to convey emotions now that the tech has caught up to our imaginations. What about the old man face? He could have replayed the Cara demo, but they did something else.

The author of this garbage makes it sound like the entire 2 hours was a waste. Don't bother reading this mess. Instead of constructive criticism, it's just more hate.

How can they not see the strategy? Stupid website. Sony has this conference to build buzz an then gets a second full blown reveal at e3 to upstage everyone. Don't see how some peeps don't get the brilliance of this move.

You know this would be expected.. remember when Nintendo did the same thing with the Wii U? All we saw was the Wii U Pad peripheral..

We all were asking, where was the console? Why didn't we see the console?

If anything we must take from this that it's ONLY FEBRUARY!

What exactly did some of you expect? That Sony, like Nintendo, should have rolled out the entire buffet table (which they didn't)?? No! They gave you a clear and concise outlook at what to expect in the coming months. A sample, or if even preview of what has been brewing over the past few years behind the scenes..

Let's see here.... they Unveiled the console's name, dropped some specs about the console, revealed the controller, mentioned Gakai, spoke at length about the Vita's role with the PS4, showed some of their top devs at work with the Move tech for the Ps4, introduced an incredible new racing IP, brought out 2 new iterations of their exclusive IPs and (probably something I forgot but... you get what I'm saying). I think that was all in the 1st hour...

and because we didn't see a Console last night... that tanks the whole presser? Get serious... Of course I wanted to see the console but I also know that I've seen enough to confirm that in the coming months, more and more will get revealed..

I read the Aaron & the good Major Hryb's tweets too lol those are some funny guys... smh

interestingly enough I thought that this was always the way.. you see it being done with Blockbuster games all the time!! A preview of what's to come or something big, if you will...

This was in my opinion how it should be done... but the secret is you have to give the fans/supporters/detractors and yes the haters plus those tired ass elitist gaming journalists, all of us & them, something to keep our asses talking, blogging, podcasting, WHATEVER!

Then boom, the Do Gets Done... summer is what, 4 short months away?

You don't think we'll know more about this console as we approach that?

this statement worries me, because we doesnt know much about the gameplay yet, since it was just a 8 min demo. I really think that videogame journalism needs to grow up

Sony are very very smart they are building momentum and making sure that even if a new xbox is announced during e3 it doesnt overshadow Sony because they announced their system way ahead. During E3 we still have way more information to look forward too. a price, more games and a hardware reveal. Kudos Sony you have learned the art of war.
