Sony confirms PS4's third party developers and publishers

Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed the official list of third-party video game developers and publishers who will be supporting its newly-announced PlayStation 4 home video game console.

FS is my fav dev.. i would love to see sequels to demon souls ( although dark souls 2 is just as good imo ), armored core 6 ( although im pretty pumped about verdict day, hopefully it comes to the states ), 3d dot, tenchu, otogi, enchanted arms and ninja blade

they may not have as high of production values and/or could use a bit more polish but one thing they always nail is the fun factor which is rarely matched. they are also one of the few devs who dont dumb down their games so "everyone" can play. you either like a game from them or you dont, they dont give a f*ck most of the time

I really hope so. I'm so sick of shooters and games trying to be gritty just for the sake of being gritty. RPG's are by far my favorite genre, so I want to see more of them. I would welcome some 3D platformers as well.

Strange that EPIC GAMES is not on the list since they showed the Unreal Engine 4 - I smell another EPIC exclusive deal with MS for next gen.

Also no Crytek on the list...Crytek and MS have been getting pretty close lately o_O

Edit: I hope MS is reaching out to both EPIC and Crytek on input for the 720, who better to ask than the 2 power houses of the gaming industry.

Epic did the same thing with the Vita. They showcase their engine on every platform because they want people to buy licences for their engine so Epic can make money. It's funny though because Epic will sit there and talk up a system and say why it's so great to develop for, but then they don't even make a game for it. They did it with Android, they did it with the Vita, they did it with the Wii U, and they're doing it again with the PS4.

Crytek is NOT owned by EA. Don't know where you get your information from but it's wrong. Crytek only has a partnership with EA, that's why they make games for other publishers, example being Homefront 2 for THQ.

@Nooob101: Actually Crytek is an independent developer but its partnered with EA. Its actually a widely diverse developer with several studios of its own (best known being German HQ). I have no clue what they're all working on though as have teams all over the world.

I'm sure they're working on Ryse, Homefront, Warface, and likely several other titles though. Not all of the 'games' they make are even for the public as have done military training simulators (learned about it when reading about them online one day).

these are people all WORKING ON PS4 games RIGHT NOW, as in they're being made (and a lot of them most probably being made for 720 as well, fewer for Wii U)

so what I'm basically saying is that all those people ARE making games for PS4. whether you like it or not.

I honestly dont care if the PS4 flops or goes gold, it doesnt affect my life, i have no emotional attachment to it at all. Bethesda are top devs. The problem this gen was their choice of licensed engine. The Gamebryo engine is horribly unoptimized and buggy, and that's what caused most of their games problems.

They've been working on a brand new, in-house engine for years now. I expect great things from them this gen, and seeing how open a platform the PS4 is, maybe Bethesda can find a way to allow mods on PS4.

So far Sony has really righted the ship that was the PS3. Yes the PS3 is a great system but the architecture of it turned off a lot of 3rd party developers. With the PS4 they even said they went to the developers & asked what they needed to make the game they are capable off & the PS4 is the result.

A much more developer friendly system & from what i heard (from Jonathon Blow) a more open system as well. Where the Indie developers can self publish a game on PSN. That fact alone is worth supporting the platform.

I have to hand it to Sony, they ate some humble pie sorta apologizing for the PS3. And the PS4 is a sort of an apology or olive branch to 3rd parties to welcome them back on Playstation.

This E3 is gonna be amazing & so hyped to see what more we will see.

sidenote: Ok Squarenix this was a chance to redeem yourself & show us what many of us has been waiting for. Instead you AGAIN tease the gamer for anouncing an anouncement for something at E3...seriously.

Wow after seeing KillZone:Shadow Fall I feel bad for every 3rd party developer.Once again GG sets the bar now its time for ND too take it one more level.I wasnt really ready for PS4 but after seeing KZSF and Infamous Second Son.I can feel great about next gen gaming.Hopefully Zipper Inc. makes MAG 2 and Socom 5.

Wow Sony slap the gaming community today.I was blindsided about what Sony was hiding and cant wait until E3.I personally feel sorry for MicroSoft bc I was thinking about getting the next Xbox but after today I'm happy with giving Sony my money again...

That's one helluva long list of third party developers Sony got there.

My guess is that Sony wanted to have this conference today in order to cut their conference time in half for E3 2013. makes a lot of sense.

So, All Sony really have to do now is focus on the games at E32013.
